View Full Version : iNET Interactive and Ad Space
Charter 10-14-2003, 07:30 PM Dang. I purchased a small amount of ad space for here at WHT three days ago. According to this (http://www.hostbuzz.com/whtads/faq.asp) my ad was to run right away assuming I did (a), (b), and (c), which I did. I never received my login info to check stats, I've emailed several times, receiving only one email response saying that my info cannot be located, and I called a couple of times too, only to receive a recorded message. In my book "Immediately" doesn't mean three plus days. Am I out my money?
anon-e-mouse 10-14-2003, 07:42 PM Who have you contacted about it?
Charter 10-14-2003, 07:47 PM Hi. Email has been sent to corporate at inetdirectories.com, support at inetdirectories.com, lenny.hihath at inetdirectories.com, and creative at inetdirectories.com. Calls have been made to 877-463-8347 and 913-693-7939.
SoftWareRevue 10-14-2003, 07:54 PM Maybe they have some problems. I haven't noticed Ryan or Gabe on lately either.
Charter 10-14-2003, 08:17 PM Hi. I have sent email to the aforementioned addresses asking for a refund. Thanks anyway.
Edit: In fairness, I edit this post to say that I have heard from iNet on this matter and things should now be resolved.
Ryan Elledge 10-16-2003, 11:16 AM Just so people know, Charter's ads were running. It did take 3 days or so to get them up as there was a mixup on his creative. We doubled his amount of impressions to compensate for the delay in getting them up. His ads began running on Wednesday (yesterday) as we told him they would.
Today, Charter decided to e-mail us demanding a refund as his ads weren't running. I refunded Charter's money, assuming we had made a mistake and not run the ads, only to find out that there were running (I searched under the wrong company name).
Anyway, point is, Charter's ads were running on WHT and he qas getting a nice click through. As we have refunded his money, they aren't running any more.
Charter 10-16-2003, 06:50 PM As this thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=196989) is locked, but relledge responded after it was locked, and I cannot respond in that thread, I'll post here.
What relledge said is true, but what he fails to mention is that I never received my login information to check my stats. This morning I refreshed a bunch of times - check for this IP in the logs - to see if my ad was running and didn't see it. I also checked my email for my login information or anything indicating that my ad was in fact running, but nothing was there.
Hence, I assumed that my ad was still not running. Turns out it was in fact running, but as I did not know this, I demanded a refund. Afterwards, relledge informed that my ad was in fact running, but he had also refunded my money as requested.
As I did receive impressions, unbeknownst to me until relledge informed me that he refunded my money, I calculated what was owned to iNET for the amount of impressions I did receive - as reported to me by relledge - and paid that amount to iNet.
From my perspective, if things would have gone according to this (http://www.hostbuzz.com/whtads/faq.asp), none of the hassle would have happened in the first place. Decent click through does not beget decent customer service.
blue27 10-16-2003, 06:55 PM They close threads for good reason.
SoftWareRevue 10-16-2003, 08:00 PM Well, that thread (which is now this thread) was closed because Charter stated the problem was resolved.
A couple days later it seems it wasn't. Perhaps a comedy of errors. Perhaps someone expecting technology to be infallible.
The fact is; people make mistakes. Technology makes mistakes.
Just doesn't seem like this story's over. If it were, Charter wouldn't have started a new thread. Well, merged with this once closed thread now.
Charter 10-16-2003, 08:37 PM Thanks SWR for the merge, unlock, and comments. If I had to do it again, I think I would try to be more patient. As it sits, iNet did refund my money, and I did pay back the amount for the impressions received. Fair is fair. No one lost out financially on the deal, just some headache all around, and I agree with "a comedy of errors" it was. If relledge is willing to try again, I'd be willing to try again. :)
