I need 4 People to test out some new servers for me, the cost to the customer for this is 0 dollars, the test will be anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. these are dedicated servers that will be added to my 4webspace cobalt raq offering, if all goes as planned these servers will cost 99.00 a month same as the old raq 3's . the servers will have a control panel interface and will run fully patched Red hat 6.2. These are test systems and have never been used by me before, therefore i cant promise any sort of uptime or anything else until we test them.

Requirements:
you have to have some traffic (more traffic is better)
you need to have a fairly large site at least 500 megs would be good.
you have to understand this is a test and be ready to move when i ask you to (i will allow for dns updates to move sites off so you wont end up with any downtime)

For all those who want more info.... dont ask cause im not tellin :P
until after the test that is :)

Email steve@tera-byte.com if your interested ill tell you what to do

What a great deal!!

Let me make sure I understand this right:

You want testers who have a large web site over 500MB with a lot of traffic (therefore, we're talking about a successful, established site) to move it to your server for a couple of weeks for testing.

While on your server, there is no guarantee about how well the site will perform since this is a test.

And when you say "git" the site has to be moved.

Have I understood correctly?

you make it sound like a bad thing.
yes you have understood correctly, however lets put it in the correct light. lets assume someone wants to do the test they use a round robin dns setup which sends half their hits to me instead of their current host, they then save on half their bandwidth charges and if it gets FUBAR they simply remove a dns entry and loose nothing, or if they currently have a server at say ***** what exactly are they risking :)

Yes,
Round robin dns works great :-)... Not as good a load balanceing job as an L4 switch like a server iron but it does work
