Hi, I hear you can go to microsofts website and install frontpage 2002 your self. As for me I don't think I am going to worry about it until they come out with an upgrade because it might cause too many problems with the way the raq runs now.

I seen a post today on the Cobalt Users group that some tried it and it messed the server up and they could not use FrontPage.

They may have done something wrong so until Sun/Cobalt comes out with a package I am waiting.

Hello all.

I am new to this forum and the world of servers. (At least owning one.) I have just purchased a cobalt raq 3i in hopes to host my own web, and have been having some difficulty with uploading my web to the server.

I am using Frontpage 2002, and after researching the net (which is how I ended up to this forum), I have just dicovered that the RaQ3i does not (typically) support FP2002.

Can anyone tell me if the patches have been made available yet? Keep in mind I am a bit of a novice at all of this, and would greatly appreciate any insight to upgrading my RAQ 3i!

Thanks.

First all, make sure you install the RaQ4 OS on your 3i.

There is no FP2002 option for the RaQ3 or RaQ4.

Your best bet, if you have access to your machine, is to install the RaQ550 OS on it, which does support FP2002.

FP 2002 will be the compatible option for you. You can install the 2002 version from the microsoft website.

I went to Microsoft's website and found a few links. The question I have is since this is a windows based server running linux, would I download the "unix" extensions?

(Sorry if this is a dumb question... I am a hardware guy by trade, with very little unix knowlege. which is why I am trying to learn about the subject.)

The other question is can I just copy and paste the Microsoft's link into the "install software" window, and then the server will update it's self? Or do I need to manually install the extensions?

Again sorry if these questions are rudimentary for you guys.

Thanks for all your help.
