Or get some programmer to work on it. :) neil 08-28-2001, 01:45 PM http://everyone.net seems to be actually accepting new users, however the service is not free. I can vouch for bigmailbox as being a quality service. -neil Jodi K. 08-28-2001, 03:40 PM For an offering on my own personal web site, I was originally using BigMailBox. Unfortunately, when I first signed my site up, they told me that they would eventually be getting POP capabilities (the ability to bring outside mail into the free BigMailBox account). They lied. A year later when I asked them about it after having read numorous postings on their internal message boards about how it was being pushed back and pushed back, I was told by their tech people that they "never intended on offering such a service and there are no plans to do so." Uh.... yeah. Right. It was the promise of that particular feature that had gotten me to go with them in the first place. That's when I found Everyone.net. I immediately switched over my free email accounts to them - and they *do* have POP capabilities. This is VERY handy for people travelling who only have browser access on occasion. I don't know whether or not they're still accepting free accounts though, as mentioned. Still, they're worth looking into. The first tier of paid service is their $29.95 / month offering which allows up to 250 e-mail accounts. After that, I believe it jumps to $59.95 and that goes to something like 500 e-mail accounts. I'm currently paying for their $29.95 offering simply to get rid of all the extraneous ads and pop ups that they had going (and there were a LOT of them!) though that's a problem with both services. If it's free, you have to deal with lots of ads - and it's getting worse all the time. When you pay, you can sell your own advertising in the top spot. That'll help pay for their monthly charges, too. I'm quite happy with Everyone.net's pay service and they do have great customer service. Real people on the other end of the line. Hope this info is helpful to someone... (sorry about the length...) Good luck! --Jodi nelson 08-28-2001, 04:57 PM Everyone.net has a 100 email option also. I just signed up with them myself. It seems very easy to set up and customize. It is 9.99 per month. Chicken 08-28-2001, 07:55 PM Jodi K. check out: http://www.netmongol.com/prices.html 1000/$10 (addl. 1000 $5/mo.) I don't use it but I've also never heard anything bad about it (other than the intertface could look nicer, which is also my personal opinion). Jodi K. 08-28-2001, 08:08 PM Wow. Almost seems too good to be true. :) Thanks for telling me about them, Chicken. Of course, the problem I'm facing at THIS point, is that I've already switched everyone over from BigMailBox to Everyone.net. Did that a few months back. I'd hate to interrupt people's service again... But if my account starts costing me the $59.95/month and I can't find an advertiser for the spot, I may have no choice. Still, I can honestly say I'm very happy with Everyone.net's customer support. And they do supply you with demographics that you can get from them once a week, so you can go through and delete accounts that aren't being used. That's managed to save me for a little while... If anyone has any experience with NetMongol, I hope you'll post about it? I'd love to hear more. --Jodi |
