View Full Version : Billing System
Hello everyone,
I am a owner in a decently sucessful webhosting company. We have got to the point that our client base is becoming unmanageable under the present conditions. We are looking into a new billing system specifically meant for Webhosting companies, and I was wondering if any of you may of heard of one?
I'm looking for either an entirely company managed billing system, or even a outsourced billing system. Either works for us.
Thank you,
Rory

I personally use Billadmin myself (had the honor of beehing their first customer ;)), and can vouch for it, try it out, it's worthed, if you need some outside info on it, let me know, I'll be glad to help
Thanks. Although, we've employed programmers to create a billing system for us. :P
Actually, it's almost done, and looks quite nice to. :)
However, I forwarded off the URL, since it does look like a very nice billing system, and it deserves to be considered.

Ditcrider 01-03-2001, 12:15 AM We use Digital Point's Optigold ISP...
http://www.optigold.com
Although it wasn't designed with hosting as it's primary role it does very well for us...
They have a free 100 user trial.

Hi Carlos,
Do you know if BillAdmin has gone out of business? I sent them an e-mail last week and got no answer, and today when I went to the site to jot off a follow-up e-mail the site is gone (I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error message).
I probably wouldn't be interested in using their remote hosted billing solution, but I had an inquiry about licensing their software for us to provide our Resellers, so I was hoping to get in touch, but now it looks like they might be gone. Too bad - they looked like they had a real winning system.
Do you have any info?
Thanks,
Jason
CRego3D 01-10-2001, 09:00 PM Hi Jason
No they haven;t gone out of business, and I did notice the site was down, and send them an email, not sure why they haven't reply to you yet :(
Chicken 01-11-2001, 12:17 AM That was backed by Site5, so when you say 'they' you mean them. To my knowledge they aren't floating sideways at the top of the tank just yet :)
Contact Site5 Matt for more info.

I did. I e-mailed twice, I ICQ'd twice, I've gotten no responses at all :(
CRego3D 01-11-2001, 05:48 PM Weird, I wonder if Matt's away or something
kunal 01-12-2001, 01:02 AM Yup. Matt hasnt come online on ICQ either. hmm.. I think someone should give site5 a call.
webfors 01-12-2001, 09:30 AM It's been down for a couple days now. I've also emailed Matt and awaiting a response. Wonder what happened?
Matt Lightner 01-12-2001, 11:48 AM It should be noted that Site5 is far from going out of business. In fact, it's just the opposite. Over the past month or two, we have nearly doubled our customer base and have some exciting new plans for the future.
However due to the the increase in customer service needed to manage these new customers, we have opted to discontinue selling BillAdmin as a service for the time being (we were getting TONS of inquiries and it was taking up nearly all of my time just to manage them). Current customers will, of course, be able to remain on the system. However no new orders will be accepted until further notice.
It should be noted that I have been away on vacation for a while, thus the lack of response from myself. :D
Thanks for everyone's concern, and have a wonderful day.
All the best,
Matt

webfors 01-12-2001, 11:51 AM Phew, you had me worried there!! :D
kunal 01-12-2001, 11:53 AM Boooo.. Make BillAdmin available again! We will pay you with green paper.. commoin!!
hehe.. kidddind :D
Welcome back Matt :)
webfors 01-12-2001, 11:59 AM I never thought someone would discontinue a service due to too much demand!! :D
Matt, maybe you should put the page back up with an explanation as to what's going on. It's scary to see nothing. :)
CRego3D 01-12-2001, 02:56 PM haaaa .. the headaches of success :D
Jason Ellis 01-12-2001, 03:44 PM Matt,
Since my request was a bit different from your typical sales issue for BillAdmin, would you be willing to reply to it? I'd really like to talk with you about it.
Thanks,
Jason
a.chaplin 01-26-2001, 05:50 AM If you have got to the point that your client base is becoming unmanageable under the present conditions why dont you consider looking at Sphera HostingDirector 3.0. It will completely automate your day to day web hosting opperations giving your customers the ability to self provision themselves. I noticed you use Miva Merchant and have a control panel and offer various plugins. Sphera would allow your users to install Miva and many more plugins to their sites as they wish through an easy to use advanced control panel. They even have an agreement with Miva which gives you licence fees at cheaper prices. If you also have resellers then Sphera can accomodate for these too, or even if you haven't then certainly consider them under Sphera, it may give you some extra revenue! Visit http://www.sphera.com.
a.chaplin 01-26-2001, 05:51 AM P.S
Sphera will automate and link everything to you billing system automatically!
nopzor 02-10-2001, 12:17 PM http://www.voxel.net/ under software.
It's a free billing package that we've released.
Hopefully people will find it useful :-)
Cheers!

That looks promising... Is it customizable?
I currently use and reccomend FF Billing Manager to anyone who wants an offline solution. The invoicing and monthly billing makes things much more managable than doing it manually.
