Greetings,
My name is Tom Whiting, I've been involved with the Linux community for 5-10 years (I lost track quite some time ago;)), and am looking to take on a limited amount of clients.
My experience over the years includes, but is certainly not limited to:
-- configuring and compiling apache, from scratch (no rpm's)
-- working with Sendmail and QMail, both configuring and eliminating one for the other.
-- Installing firewall scripts, debugging said scripts, ensuring that everything worked as planned.
-- Problem solving, from minor things such as finding what client was taking up what amount of process usage repeatedly to investigating CC fraud through various means.
-- Hack recovery, reinstalling and reconfiguring systems after they've been hacked.
-- C programing and personal game design. I'll gladly provide that link if it's asked for ;)
-- PHP programming for above game
-- Gaming hosting
I could put alot more there, but you get the general idea.If it's linux related, chances are I've had my hand in it somewhere, from compiling kernels to stripping sendmail.
So, what does this mean to you? Well, I'm looking to take on a limited number of clients. Services provided would be:
Server Administration
If it can be done, I'll gladly give it 100% to do it, whenever possible. My years of experience show that VERY little can't be done.
Server Monitoring
All servers are monitored 24/7 for problems such as dns failings, apache failings, sql failing, etc. Should something come up, I respond as quickly as possible (generally within 10 minutes)
Log Checking
I have a program that goes through and parses logs, looking for problems. If problems arise, they're brought to my attention via email.
24/7 availability
While I do sleep (occasionally), all clients have 24/7 access to me, through phone, sms, email, any messenger (messages are forwarded to my phone if I'm sleeping or away, and I respond as soon as possible).
There's more, which can all be found on my webpage (http://www.linux-tech.net/).
Thanks for taking the time to read this, if you have any questions, please, either post a comment in this topic, or contact me through any of the methods listed on my webpage.
