You wouldn't want to host it on your machine anyway, it would be unreliable.
I've heard bad things about GoDaddy too. Do you know how much traffic you're using?

How many simultaneous connections are you using at one time? It does sound like a VPS/semi-dedicated would work best for you.

I believe ServerMatrix.com was already referred in this thread...
VPS - Virtual Server (basically you only share the server with a few other customers, similar to semi-dedicated)

Virtual Private Server / Virtual Dedicated Server (VPS/VDS)

I host a forum at no charge for a friend of mine that has well over 5000 members. Usually there are 40-60 members on at a time and he uses just about 10Gb of bandiwth a month. The forum is using phpBB. I don't think you need to go dedicated or VPS. Find a host that offers a good plan and balances their servers correctly and you will have no trouble.
From seeing nothing but good recommendations on this forum about them, two that spring to my mind are www.httpme.com and www.unitedhosting.co.uk
good luck

[B]I want something very reliable.
You want top notch service, equipment, and support? Then you want www.PowerSurge.net if you can afford them. www.PAIR.com would be another host to consider. But be sure to ask about concurrent connections in regard to your forums first as I would recommend you doing with any prospective provider.
