How are there services, can someone give me feedback on them?

haven't used their services but looking at their plans I'd think twice...or maybe 3 or 4 times. The "Data 3" plan has 225 gigs of bandwidth for just $39.95? Most places give around 1/5 or a 1/6 of that for that kind of price.

No problems with them! I found them very helpful and they always replied to my support request with in the hour. I was very happy with them. Excellent support, good/fast servers... I would recommend them.

(No I dont work for them :) )

Judging by their plans and the (slow) speed of their site, I'd say that's quite a bit of overselling.

How do you test how fast a site is?

I based it simply on how fast pages loaded for me when I hit their site. I hit it now and it was loading faster so it was likely a temporary problem but it was loading exceptionally slow compared to other sites I was hitting at the time.

@LiveRack

Compare it to http://www.newnet.co.uk and you REALLY can see a difference in page loading speed!

Anyone else get the popups on their site that I did?

Anyways the site loads pretty fast for me right now.

Don't know anything about the hosting, but be careful with that kind of pricing.

**EDIT: Don't go to the site, it installs a bunch of ad programs on your comp.

Dear CrazyTech,
That's not accurate. You may have some 3rdparty adware installed on your computer but it is certainly not from our website.

Our fully redundany network is quite fast, please take a look at our stats at http://www.datacities.com/network.php. Thanks for your interest! http://www.datacities.com/network.php

i didnt get any pop ups either, make sure it wasnt a site you left by going to their site, alot of sites are now putting delayed pop ups from leaving their site.

Let's see....a newbie asks....another newbie answers.....datacities, a relative stranger, jumps in.....am I the only one who has any suspicions about this.

Add to that Scott has dug up a number of threads all over WHT in the past 24 hours :)

You aren't the only one.

And what is your site with them since you felt you needed to make the distinction that you do not work for them?

datacities seems to sell reseller accounts on ebay, and theyre quite popular there too... dug up some threads on how people selling on ebay were bad, but i've seen a few who really are quite good, maybe datacities is one of the decent ones :D

anyway, does anyone have any comments on www.web-xperts.com? thinking of buying one of their packages off ebay to try. heard really good comments bout them tho

To snickn,
That is sad about Greg Sizemore, of course I do not know him or know of him but it was still very sad to see such a young person pass on. I think Rackshack / ev1.net was very noble in honoring him the way they did by blacking out their site.

Just out of curiosity why is it bad that I "dug up" threads. I just did a search for my company's name and found some matters I wanted to make sure were resolved.

Furthermore, why is it that ever since I started my business people have always been suspicious of us? I don't understand it and really don't know what I can do to prove that I am an honest man and my company is made up of hardworking honest people. Any suggestion as to how I can prove this would be appreciated.

The fact that my company is an overseller should not really be of concern. That is an age old business practice, as I've seen noted elsewhere, how do you think insurance companies work? I do understand why people would fear what they don't know but I was told when I first opened DataCities that I would not last 2 months, then when I was around for 6 months they said I wouldn't last 8 months, and so on.

People may constantly doubt my company and that is fine, but we are growing very rapidly and we are developing new software that I think will have a warm welcoming in the web hosting administration market. The fact of the matter is that I eat, sleep, and breathe for web hosting and if you really think that my plan resources are impossible, then take a look at ipowerweb, ******, and many others that are doing well.

To splot,
We do have a nice Ebay following at this point, and yes I have read the horror stories about Ebay hosting as well, but just because a market is filled with dishonest scam artists does not mean you should simply ignore it. I brought my company to Ebay, knowing full well that we would, yet again, be met with resistance, and I understand the reasoning behind the suspicions from the Ebayers as they have been scammed more than any other market, but as always we are gaining their trust and our feedback proves this! As far as web-xperts.com, check their feedback, that will tell you if they are a good company, check their website, email them some questions, check around for their history… give them a chance – not every Ebay hosting provider is a scammer.

In closing, and also a note to WHT moderators, I am not soliciting anyone here, I just want people to know that you can’t always jump down a company’s throat and flame them because they seem “suspicious”.

Sincerely,

It is a common mistake to judge the speed of a webhost by the speed the webhosts homepage loads, this is wrong. Web pages can vary in size and load a lot slower, as can your internet connection.

Webhost pages go from the simple site of 44kbs to the massive of 1mb in size.

So far I have had no problems with datacities, I have been with them for about a year now and they have remained fast, I believe their new servers are best though. For reselling I'd say they are brilliant, for web hosting I'd say.. they do a lot for the money but you risk being put on a less stable server.
