I've registered most of my domains with stargate... I wanted to test godaddy so I registered one domain with them .... after about a month of having it inactive... I used their DNS modification page and it doesn't accept the nameservers... which are up and running...
I used their support page... to let them know of my problem and now I got an "Unresolved" reply ... which is nothing more than a copy of my e-mail from a script they use...
does anyone here have similar problems with godaddy?

Nope. I have several domains with GoDaddy; and not one complaint about their support. I always found support to be prompt, courteous, and productive.
I also have several domains with Stargate and a question for you . . . . . . . .
Why would you want to use anywhere but Stargate??

I don't think they have support.
All they give you is tons of faq questions.

Finally after hours of trying ... suddenly the godaddy "software" accepted the nameservers for the domain...
I didn't do anything different... I just rewrote my nameservers for several times.... and now it worked...

Well ok everyone has problems... i know... but I still wait for an answer... I think that if you're not sure that you can answer a question ... DONT promise you'll do it in 4-6 hours <godaddy> ....
their support so far is non existent....

SoftWareRevue, I tried godaddy just to test them... I have no problems with stargate... I always do it .... working with several companies cause we all know there's absolutely none 100% reliable... we're talking about business that humans and PC's coexist :)....

I'm not sure if i'll ever register a domain with godaddy... They may be ok and this and that.... but they made me spend so much time trying to modify the dns of a domain (2 mins needed max) .... and I had absolutely no answer to my direct questions to them ....like sorry we had a software problem X and it will be fixed in Y time.... (problems happen to anyone)...

I understand that they have so many clients... and that they have those FAQ's and prepared answers... but when it comes to a support question beyond such stuff... I want to feel that someone's there....

and so far there is noone there....

I think for such companies 2 things are important:
1) not to need to contact with them for support
2) if 1 not possible, fast and "drastic" response

my 2 cents

I have never had any trouble with them, I have registered around a dozen domains with them and have yet (knock on wood) had any trouble.

I know what ya mean montini. Writing a support message to their team is a pain in the a__!! They won't let you submit a question until you read at least 1 of their FAQ entries..

I submitted a question about my domain, its been about a week. No replies. I think they have soo many customers using their domain services its too hard to support them all.. Kinda like NSOL.

They have excellent domain management system though.

I know last night that GoDaddy's domain name transfer feature was down.

You could put in any domain name and it would say that the domain has been deleted and can be readtivated on the front page.

I finally got a reply from godaddy ......
"Dear Sir, it appears the second nameserver was accepted"
ehm ....

thank you very much guys for letting me know!

hehehe

I think that its the business we're in that causes all these phenomena. You can get big in notime if you're a hardworker and lucky....

so should your business though ...
