hey, how is your day..

some questions, i like to have a website that focus on forums (just like WHT, but I plan to have the one focus on cars).

(I will use ACCESS/SQL based forum)
- what type of web hosting I need? (share? or else)
- how many of bandwidth i need? (approx.)
...etc

Thank you guys.

You will want to look for windows hosting.
Start with a small plan.
100-300mb space and 3-5gb traffic.
Make sure you choose a host that will allow you to upgrade easily and don't just go for the lowest bidder.
Research you choices and take your time.

If it's windows you are looking for, I have seen weberz.com referred to a lot as being one to at least look into. However, I cannot speak from experience.

Good luck on your search!

I don't really have any experience with windows hosts so I can't recommend any. Do a search on this forum for windows hosting and you should come up with some opinions.

Are you going to be allowing picture uploads and such? I host 2 car forums (and both have just moderate traffic) but they use about 10GB and 25GB respectively a month each. Obviously my client has been doing it for a while. But still, car pictures can quickly leech the bandwidth away. (and space usage is about 1Gb and 1.5GB respectively)

The size of the DB is huge.

If the above benchmarks are of any help :) You can obviously start smaller and grow your way up and upgrade your plan as you go along. So look for a host that gives you that flexibility (i.e. don't get suck in to yearly plans or make sure that they still allow you to upgrade even if it is a yearly plan)

Like mentioned above, start with a small plan with the ability to upgrade at a later date. Forums can use a lot of transfer when they become active.
