View Full Version : Wholesaleinternet A+
Lomingo 10-07-2003, 06:22 AM Hello,
Sorry about my English first.
I have been with Wholesaleinternet INC. for 2 months now, I have 4 servers with them. They have their own datacenter.
And all servers comes with a free fully managed service.
Price Grade: A
No one can beat their offers. I have never tought to leave there and go
with an another company.
Uptime Grade: A
They have 2 bandwitdh providers, Cogent and Williams.
totally 2 hours downtime in 2 months at 1 server. No downtimes at other 3 servers.. I'm on Cogent.
Support Grade: A
Online support is just great. They are very helpfull. When i need something important, i send them a pager e-mail. I get my answer in 5 minutes, 2 hours max.
One day, I have asked them to install for me a telnet, within few minutes, telnet got installed on my server.
Server Setups:
Server 1: 12 hours
Server 2: 14 hours
Server 3: 10 hours
Server 4: 8 hours
Anyone looking for a great dedicated server, i would recommend wholesaleinternet.com
Have a good day.
Darktwist 10-07-2003, 08:03 AM I have a server from Wholesaleinternet too :) they seem to be very good.
If I need a support - I can contact a guy on ICQ. I think I am aware that support is run by 1 person? - having more than 1 person will be good if somone is away.
Lomingo 10-07-2003, 09:02 AM I use MSN when I need help. I have no idea about how many people works for there. There is a billing boi called James. I know that man only. and the king; Aaron.
peersignal 10-07-2003, 06:49 PM I don't see any servers on their web site, just shared plans. Am I at the correct URL? www.wholesaleinternet.com
Regards,
Mark

To what extent are they managed? I wouldn't expect much at those prices. Do they take care of patches/security updates automatically or even just when you request them?
Darktwist 10-08-2003, 06:51 AM I dont think its managed but I might be wrong.
reanncw 10-08-2003, 07:33 AM i wouldnt mind getting that duron server... and what people say about the company makes it even attractive.

Everyone's definition of managed is different. We don't advertise our servers as managed but we do provide support and will help with things like kernel upgrades, patches, software issues, etc. We also fully support DirectAdmin and CPanel.

Do you provide any sort of "scheduled updates" where you go through every now and then and update/patch everything?
Also, for current customers, how would you rate the network? It seems to me Kansas City is sort of "off the map" in terms of routing...
kansas city is far from 'off the map' ;)
wheimeng 10-11-2003, 03:15 AM I see Cogent only?

We update at the customer's request. Some customers don't want us "messing" with thier machine.

Yes, at that point we will go BGP. GLBX and L3 will be up and running in 90 days.

I hope you do a lot with Global Crossing, I have some of their stock and its under .20 a share. It could use a big boost for me to get whole. :)

When are you going to man the datacenter 24/7? Any plans yet? I'm still considering getting some servers online there but would like someone available to at least flip the power switch on and off if I need a reboot. It would take me too long to wake up enough at 3am, put some clothes on, and drive 30min to reboot it myself. I'd be reimbursing clients too much to do this myself and yet maintain an SLA.

If you need instant reboots we can provide a remote reboot switch for you.
