Very tragic, she was only 22 years old.

Sadly, it is true. I really don't think CNN would joke about something like this.

There are 6 other people killed in that plane crash. We should also express our condolensces for them as well, their lives are as valuable as aaliyah's .... This is not a particular tragedy of one person, but of --unfortunately-- 7 persons. I feel really sad for the death of all of these people than for the death of one single R&B singer, aaliyah (though I also feel sad about her tragedy too).

Just my two cents ...

cheers,

Hi,

Intersting thing http://www.aaliyah.com/ points to the 'google groups' (usenet) of alt.hip-hop or something

go there. it has been obliterated by fans expressing sadness, punctuated by people moaning about the 'spam'! Callous.

edit:

this has now been altered.

Hi,

May I make known my sympathy for all the victims and especially their families. It must be especially hard on any young children who have lost parents and relatives, or for that matter any children. It must be even harder for any parents who have lost children... At some point you expect to lose your parents; you never expect to be in the terrible position of having to bury your children.

May I express once again my sympathies, and I am sure I express those of everyone at our community. I sincerely hope that the families can somehow manage to put their lives back together.

What a terrible loss for all those that died in the accident. I really enjoyed Aaliyah's music, she was a very talented woman. A very sad day. :( :( :bawling: :( :(

thats really awful.

I was just watching interviews they had done of her in the past months.
She was talking about how she was so happy, that shes doing what she loves to do with her life.
How things are doing so well for her.

Just goes to show you, you never know whats going to happen next.

It is sad that this stuff happens. Worse when multiple people die and only one is recognized. Sort of reminds me of history where one general won the war. I don't think Rest in Peace should be abbreviated... I always pronounce it "rip" instead when I see that... :[ Probably just me though.

May they all be in a better place.

I sympathize with those who grieve for her loss, especially her family.

Other than that I don't see how this is a big deal. People die every day. Some younger, some older, many with greater contributions to mankind than a quickie chart hit.
