The sellers site appears to be down for me right now 8:25am EST - in addition, it was down last night when I tried to access it around midnight EST...

Boy am I glad we got a merchant account 6 months ago. I only wish we were completely converted from 2c. Close but not quite. :-)

Take care,

Brian

At least some of their systems are working. We recieved the nightly processing emails for recurring billing/failed billings as normal. So, it is probably another DOS attacking their Internet facing systems...

I guess we'll find out when they come back online.

Take care,

Brian

Well this is fun. Luckily no one is trying to make a purchase right now but it would be nice to have the system up in case I were to get a sale.

DNS looks ok from here:

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnstime.ch?name=sellers.2checkout.com&type=A

There's just nothing coming up on their IP's. I bet, based on what happened before, someone is DDOS'ing them pretty bad...

Take care,

Brian

How many people in this thread are going to switch? We went to 2 checkout and Pay Systems before we started up. 2 checkout wouldn't even reply to any emails we sent. So we went to Pay Systems and have been there ever since. There was a problem with PS once...but it was fixed within a matter of hours. We did use Hostcharge for 2 months, but, as most of us know, that's a dead company now. Took some money from us and ran!

We have been trying to get away for some time now. It takes a while to get a good number of transactions moved.

We did 6 months ago, as I mentioned before. But, its not easy to switch hundreds of billing accounts over night. We went through AmeriMerchant to get our account.

Believe me, the $249 for the merchant account setup fee has more than paid for it self. Not only in reduced fees, but decreased blood pressure. :-)

Take care,

Brian

BTW - has anyone gotten through to 2checkout at all today? I've been trying periodically since Midnight last night to get to the sellers interface... Its been going on 20 hours now, and I still haven't got there.

Take care,

Actually, the best thing was to post here when 2CO was actually *up*, not down, which seems to be default now.

Everyone sure this isn't a DNS error? Generally either sellers OR buyers area is down, but generally not both.

Maybe they moved to a state of the art datacenter!? (lol)

The buyers side is up as I have been getting orders all day.

Sellers interface is still down, going on 24 hours now... Am I the only one starting to wonder what is up? Strangely I got my recurring billing notices this morning, just like always, so maybe its only their outward facing systems that are affected...

Has anyone heard any announcements from 2checkout on this?

Take care,

Brian

UPDATE DDoS - Oct. 7th
Since about 10: PM EST last night we have been under another DDOS Attack. We were down about one hour last night while we put our blocks back in place. All Buyers and Sellers servers are up and running. The only disruption at this time is our Home Page has been taken down temporarily. If you rely on our Front Page to get to the Sellers Area, you can use this link as an alternative for the time being. https://sellers.2checkout.com You can use this link to get to our Help Desk: http://www.support.2checkout.com/deskpro/faq.php

That alternate address is accessible to the sellers area.

This was just emailed to us:

Yesterday the 2CO homepage was taken down in response to the heavy data flow coming from a new DDOS attack. Because the homepage is not critical to clients buying and selling, it was determined that it was better for 2CO to get no signups, than it was for buyers to have a potentially unpleasant purchase experience.

We apologize if this caused concern or made it more difficult or impossible to find how to enter the sellers area or to submit a trouble ticket.

For future reference here are some direct links to functions of the 2CO system.

The sellers area : https://sellers.2checkout.com

The forums : http://support.2checkout.com/forums/main.php

Trouble Tickets : http://www.support.2checkout.com/deskpro/faq.php

We have been and are continuing to put in safeguards to further isolate our client base from any effects of these attacks.

Thank You,

2Checkout.com Inc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thankfully we are no longer using 2checkout. We now use Paysystems (awesome) who pays like clockwork and also have a merchant account with CSI. Our rate is 2.35% which is nice and their support has been excellent thus far.

I was able to get back into the sellers area this morning around 9am-ish, EST. So, it seems they are at least partially back up. Must be one serious DDOS attack if they have been fighting it this long...

Take care,

Brian

Is anyone receiving tens of copies of that email? I checked my mail only to find it was CLOGGED with them.

I got 3 of them...

I got an order today at 9 AM (on 10/8)...and I still haven't recieved a confirmation email, nor does anything appear in the sellers area for the client...Should I have them re-register...or wait it out a bit more?

We have been getting all orders and the seller area has been correct for us. A transaction made about 30 min ago is showing already.

Now we decided to move...

We are moving to PaySystems. It seems like it is taking forever to migrate over.

We have a merchant account with FirstPay.net, but would rather use a third party. Why? Automatic recurring billing and we don't have to keep up with credit card info.
