You say that you are the tech contact. Who is the administrative contact? That's the one with all the control, and the reason that they are not altering anything - even though the tech can initiate the change, the admin has the final say.

Gawd I got angry just reading that tripe from Net Sol. You'd think now there are other players in town they'd clean up their act a little (read: a lot).

Not a solution, but a suggestion. If Net Sol is being unfriendly to you and your email address, maybe you should pass it up the line a little. Can TotalNIC help you out? I had problems a while ago (well detailed elsewhere in this forum), and the eventual solution was to go further and further up the line until I got to someone with the authority to step in themselves. Sadly I don't think Net Sol has a conformity complant dept. like opensrs does (I may be wrong).

I think it's in everyone's best interest to transfer from Net Sol to opensrs regardless, and if your problem can't be resolved through them, pack your bags. Dotster is an opensrs registrar as is 000domains, which I've never used but others here recommend them). You might consider killing two birds with one stone - moving out of Net Sol, and trying to get them to set up your nameservers at the same time? Hey, you never know it may just work *lol*

Best of luck.

I've never had any particular problems with NetSol (I live a charmed life, you see). And I completely skipped the part in your first post about you registering with totalnic.

However, you certainly should not have to register your nameservers with NetSol if they are registered elsewhere. We've registered domains and nameservers for clients using other registrars, and NetSol has never had a problem using those nameservers. People have said that NetSol can be hard-headed about making updates, but a faxed request usually takes careof that.

Took four days for mine to appear. If you just did this, then you must wait. Do a whois at NetSol for the nameservers. In the whois box type:

host ns1.yournameserver.com

Well like chicken said it also took 4 days for mine to show up give it some time. But I am like you I tried to register mine with netsol and got the same email you got, but in a few days they showed up, take some advice use opensrs.org things run alot smoother with them.

PS. Thanks chicken and all the rest for all the help you gave me on name servers:)

the longer I spend at this forum, the more I see the trouble nameservers cause people. You'd think the 'powers that be' would have done something to correct such a glaring problem. I remember when I changed mine the first thing I did was netsearch for info. I didn't even come close to finding the stuff I needed. About all I got was a page at Slashdot where someone had complained about the lack of info... I just sat there staring at it thinking " yeah, really? Why the hell do you think I'm here in the first place!' *lol*

Personally from now on I'll just make sure I register my own domain names myself, through opensrs registrars. That way I can make sure I have access to my domain the way it should be from the start, and as a default. After all, seeing as I often go registering domain names late at night on the weekend after a few drinks, it's important I can change things easily in case I screw it up :) Rest assured I only do that with my own domains, not clients etc. My latest effort is pointyboots.com :)

Greg, does pointyboots.com have any relation to the tale of Puss in Boots? :D (don't ask me why I asked that..)
