This is not for me but for a friend of mine who currently has a server at FDC. I tried to explain him about unmetered / unlimited .... but he still thinks 3mb (capped) unlimited is better then 3mb which is burstable. Any way he is thinking to leave fdc and go with hostmania. I was wondering how they are doing these days?? What about there guaranteed 3mb burstable to 100mb throughput for no extra charge thing.

I heard they are doing very well right now. Other than that last big downtime, they've been doing extremely well.

Hostmania is actually not doing very well at all lately. I had to move a personal game server from their network due to large packet loss that has been going on over a month. They have also added Cogent and are not running pure Yipes any longer.

Doesn't say anything about Cogent in their network page. :s But I see it in the trace, very weird.

Hostmania is being consolidated into our network. Over the next 30-90 days, you will see the bandwidth become a blend of:

C&W, XO, Level3, Yipes, MFN, and (MAYBE) Cogent. We have been trying to avoid using Cogent as much as possible, but we may need to throw it into the blend to keep our pricing for a few "cost conscientious" consumers. Our other option is to leave it segregated on the network and sell straight feeds upon request (the current way we have it now).
