I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the hosting company I co-own has been down since August 5, 2003. Yeah, just gasp. I've been gasping for the past two months over it.

In January, I decided that after speaking with Timothy Embler for around 9 months, I might as well as move all of my servers to him. I mean, come on, I knew him, I had regular contact with him, everything. That, and the fact that he offered me a good escape from the poor host I had been on up to that point.

Moving was great, not one bit of downtime for months! Then August hit, and all hell broke loose. Does the term August and Multiple Image ring any bells of some older members here? It should, last year, August of 2002, Tim had 20 days downtime due to a fiber cut caused by SBC Ameritec at his Melborune location. What better way to signify a years passing then with nearly 60 days solid downtime?

Is the question, "Why hasn't he moved to another NOC yet?" run through your mind? Well, that's simple: I'm not willing to setup new servers without the data.

I need to know if any of you people out there know of any contact info for Multiple Image or Timothy Embler, or if any of you know of any ways that I could better get in contact with someone who could assist me. I tried filing a complaint with the BBB, but I got a response saying that it was only my service that was down. A load of bull; I immediately replied with a letter calling that a false response.

http://www.tuxedomask.com/kuroi/mail/9-28-2003/ is what they sent. The BBB Page 1 - back.jpg file is my mailed response.

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? I've given up on trying to contact them. All phone numbers I have are never answered, no email addresses work. Tim has tried contacting me, but it has always been at the lovely hour of 3am.

Anyway, thanks for your replies. WHT always is the best place to go when you're stuck at a stand-still.

So wait till 3 AM to talk to him. Sleep isn't in the vocabulary of a hosting company and is a poor excuse. While I am not justifying their actions, certainly you can wait until 3AM to speak to him.

I have to 2nd that statement. If you have clients that are down, sleep is no excuse.

I have before. Every night I have, he isn't around. He used to try contacting me three times per week, then two, then one. And now, it has been two weeks since his last attempt. I've given up waiting until 3am, it is a waste of my time now.

The one time I was on when he signed on at 3am, he says: brb, have to reboot. He left for eight hours. I was fast asleep when he returned from his "reboot."

Well there are 2 sides to each story. Was his reply to the BBB the one that said you are 90 days + Past due?

What is his website? I must have missed it..

www.multipleimage.com

The "account manager" claimed my service had been canceled, when in fact I know that to not be true. Not ONE of the servers at Tim's place are online. Not ONE of the IP's Tim owns are being broadcasted right now. ALL of them are "Destination Host Unreachable." The reply made to me through the BBB was complete BS.

I've heard Tim's side of the story through an associate of his. It's internet war games, in my opinion, that caused this.

And yes, the 90+ due was his reply. I haven't missed a single payment in months. The only one I did miss, Tim covered for me because he knew what caused it.

Speaking of which, Tim's associate, that I've spoken with, doesn't even recognize the name of the man who replied.
