View Full Version : Fastest transfer yet
fewcoin 10-04-2003, 10:39 AM | 30 hours from Godaddy to EV1. I'm now wondering what takes so long with others. My longest being 14 days.

DanimalEQ 10-04-2003, 01:07 PM Fastest I've ever seen a transfer happen is 1 hour. I was floored. Was from Network Solutions to GoDaddy.

Any .biz/.us/.info/.org transfer that utilizes EPP is and should be instant. Assuming the losing registrar will give up the code like they are supposed to. I just had to pay $11.95 each to renew three .info domains I have left over at DomainsNext. They have been dragging their feet about giving me the darn code for three months now. Next they're going to ask me for DNA samples to prove I own the domains! But they sure took my money quick enough! |

I agree that they should be more or less instant. However, a few registrars out there instead of ack'ing the transfer when it get's to them, will instead neither ack nor nack the transfer, and just allow it to sit for the 5 days before the registry moves the domain name(s). Other registrars will still require you to approve the transfer before they release the domain name, even with the EPP code.
However, I do have to say that EPP transfers do tend to go through faster and easier (provided you can extract the code from the cold dead hands of your current registrar) than RRP transfers. |
bandari 10-04-2003, 06:01 PM Talking of transfers, I have had major problems with Bulkregister to enom. All of my clients who have transferred a domain from them have had to wait ages (minimum 5 days) for the transfer to go through. They reject any transfers if the transferee doesn't notify them in advance even though they approve the transfer e-mail. They are such a nightmare i would never ever register with them. |
