View Full Version : Looking to get domain/s
VRonline 10-04-2003, 08:43 AM | Hi everyone,
I am looking to get perhaps one domain or multiple domains for my coming company, but I have a few problems. Hopefully some of you could help me out here :)
Preferably I would like either vronline.com, vronline.net but they are taken. Since my company is VRonline Studios I need to have a vronline in their somewhere. So now vronline.biz, vronline.info,.... are some other options. Along with vronlinestudios.com.
Ok so i'd appreciate some ideas in regards to the actual domain/s, but also, I want to get a reliable domain service and yet a cheap one. I noticed by reading a post in this forum that RackShack sells domains for $5, but are they reliable? Are there any glitches..... I was also hoping to get in on the Registerfly deal of .biz, .info domains being onlyy $6, but are they reliable??
All help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,

dmaven 10-04-2003, 08:48 AM Both rackshack and RegisterFly are reputable. Rackshack is the cheaper of the two, but RegisterFly provides more free services. |
silhouette 10-04-2003, 09:10 AM | Since vronline.com,net, even vr-online.com,net are all taken
I would suggest u use:
vronline.biz
since your co. is in this business line
What does VR stand for? may be you can just use:
V****R***.com
OR
Do u consider ccTLD..if your customer-based is in specific region...this is a good options!!
my thoughts:
vronline.us
vronline.ca
.
.
.
p/s: i nvr know vronline is so popular, lots of its variants are all taken!!
be fast b4 some1 saw this and cybersquat it!!!:D |
VRonline 10-04-2003, 09:18 AM hi thanks for the quick replies :)
dmaven, what do you mean that Registerfly has more free services. What are they??
silhouette, VR = Vassko Rumchev my initials :) I am based in Australia, but I do want to appeal to the larger public, ie.. USA as well as international. What do u think about vronlinestudios.com ?? is it worth it?
btw, VR = Virtual Reality, that is why is it so popular :P
thanks everyone, more help is greatly appreciated :) |

seems like this suits your requirement best!.
YES!! the name looks pretty nice!!
And, dmaven means:
though RS is the cheapest. But the feature it provides is rather standard: just the nameserver only..
while Registerfly, eNom Reseller, come with a complete solutions like: frame redirection, url fowarding, parking page....(i actually dont utilise them at all.)nameserver is enough for me!! |
VRonline 10-04-2003, 09:57 AM whats frame redirection?? parking page? lol sorry but I am clueless about these things :) |

This looks great !!
But the problem with American registrars for me is that, like most Europeans, I prefer to pay via bank transfers and not via creditcard. So I need a registrar that accepts that, or that accepts a virtual creditcard (for example : I pay PayPal 10 dollar via bank transfer, and they give me a number to enter in the field where RegisterFly asks the creditcard nr, and so I pay 10 dollar in fact via bank transfer)
Next to that, some questions :
- I thought their free site is only 5 MB ?
- e-mail forwarding and A Records service : up to how many e-mail-aliasses or subdomains can one create for free ?
- how much MB is the free webmail mailbox ?
- what is Dynamic DNS and NS Registry for ?
Remarkable that all this os free :) But won't they be out of business very fast if they must provide all these things for free and just get 9 bucks per domain ??
To VROnline : if you are an Australian-based company with also many American clients, I'd also register vronline.us and vronline.com.au (or vronline.org.au) if I were you. But I think you don't need to hurry that much, when you own the VR Online company, you can claim any vronline.*** domain because of trademark reasons.
But if I were you : www.vronlinestudios.com, www.vronline.us, www.vronline.com.au :) |

I agree, just use URL forwarding to point to the same website:) |
