This is my first time dealing with .co.uk domains and I'd just like to check to see if what I'm about to do will work.

My client got his domain, website and hosting as an all-inclusive package deal with a uk company.

1 - My client will ask his current webhosting company (who are also the current taghoders) to change the IPS TAG to FASTHOSTS. (I just registered an account at ukreg.com and that is their tag)

1a - If the current webhosts make it difficult my client can pay £15 to Nominet and they will change the tags.

2 - I change the Nameservers at UKreg

Possible Problems:
The domain I'm trying to transfer expired a few days ago and is in its 42 day renewal period.

The Admin Contact email is hostmaster@current webhosting company (I think).

UKreg have my details on file so that any new domains I register will get my info on the whois record and so they will be charged to my credit card.
However, the name I am trying to transfer belongs to my client....
Will the transfer be accepted?
Does this work like enom?
Can I pay the renewal or will it have to be paid by the current registry agent before transfer can be made?

I would be most grateful of any ideas or comments anyone might have

Thanks

The transfer will not be accepted
It doesn't work like Enom
The renewal will have to be paid by the current registry agent.

Once thats done you can pay a fee to nominet and they'll change the whois info if you wish, or you can push it to another UKReg account
