Ok, opinions and suggestions please on the following:
I've been using a Matrox G400 now for nigh on 1 year with 2 monitors, a trusty 17" running at 1240x1024 - 75Hz and an old beat up 14" running at 1024x768 - 70Hz
Given my 17" is making threatening blips that say it's on it's way to the scrap heap I've plumped for 2 Mitsubishi 17" pro monitors which I'd LIKE to run at 1240x1024 with high refresh rates for both.
Trouble is I've discovered that my G400 won't run beyond 60Hz on the 2nd monitor so I'm looking for either recommendations on dual head AGP cards that can tackle high frequency loads or PCI cards that may not be top of the range but can handle their own without going above £100 (roughly $145). Win 2000 can handle more than 1 monitor this way.
Anyone using a similar setup?
Please note I'm not looking for the defacto comments such as "why would you want to run it at 1240x1024?" etc... It works for me and I like working in that resolution! :) Besides you ain't my mother :D
Oh and the primary role for the machine is as for high end graphics work, web design coding, transposing of text, etc... The frame rate in quake is not an issue in this case.
Any feedback with possible solutions to this latest conundrum would be appreciated...
Cheers :D
