Ah, welcome my friend,

I have suffered a lot from several 'dedicated' hosts who have proven not really dedicated to their hosting business. And I've also heard unhappy things about many 'good' 'dedicated' hosts here: frequent downtime, outage machine, slow/no tech support, ...

Web hosting is a global business. It requires a host’s dedication, because hosting machines and hosted websites are running all the time, and more importantly, beyond the hosting machines and hosted websites, there come numerous audiences and customers from a lot of places. How come some hosts are playing like easy-going, don’t-care boys? Play with many others' businesses?

I don't want to blame. I want a stable-uptime dedicated host, like a homeless, puzzled dog just needing a good host home.

After spending my uneasy money and time, still I want to know: are there any stable 'Dedicated' hosts still existing? More specifically, I’m looking for who is the most stable dedicated host(s), charging $99-$169/month?

Myself is not a host. So I don’t need many hosting features. I only need some features of online commodity/service selling.

Who is most reliable? Who has most UpTime? I give you money, long-time money now! I’m serious! Please tell me.

I sincerely need your recommendations of any host or please mention your dedicated provider(s)!

Thank you in advance!

The real way to find a lot of them is to look at realistic bandwidth requirements. There are a good number of dedicated hosts, who are smaller (some larger, but the smaller ones tend to invest more time and care into their clients in general, because they *need* those clients), but that do not oversell their bandwidth to such an extreme. The reason I state oversell is because you can assume around 1mbps of 95th percentile will run the average host say $75-100 (or bulk hosts $40-60), and yeild around 250GB of average in + out, thus a $99/mo server with 500GB of bandwidth, is oversold as it' includes around $80-150 of bandwidth. Scan through the forums (and in general), and you may find the ones who offer less bandwidth are more interested in pricing services based on what they cost, and have a lower turnover rate in general.

"Dedicated" is referring solely to the machine, you should try a company such as Rackspace if you want decent support.

Most People who are probably reading this are sitting on their thumbs. In this forum, hosts are not permitted to boast their own services, they may not even post on what they offer, whereas nor do they want to advertise for their competition. I'd give you ideas if I could, but not many come to mind, specifically because I don't rent servers from anyone else (thus i'd be giving you advice on what i heard, not what i knew).

I second the opinion on hosts that oversell. Overselling is, in my opinion, a sign of desperation. Its not a logical business move to offer services for a monthly fee less than what you have to pay if the customer utilizes the service to its fullest potential. Bandwidth from an upscale host can cost as much as $595 per 1mbps, but is going to be your high caliber companies that are geared towards mission critical applications.

Smaller companies with cheaper bandwidth will have smaller ports to the internet, and have fewer lines to depend on. This doesnt mean their service will be bad though. It is very tought to find the true winners with the market the way it is now.
