All providers can provide unmetered bandwidth. It depends on

1. your budget
2. how much bandwidth you are talking about.

We need bandwidth about more than 700 GB / month.
We hardly seen offer more than 500 GB / month.

How good is nocster ?

They offer 1000 GB/mo traffic, that's quite interesting.

Recent users all say they are good.

I haven't seen any complaints on Nocster except for a long setup time, 4-6 days is what a lot have been saying.

Yes, I think I will go with nocster.

But one more thing (I emailed their sales but have not got any reply yet), if for example I ordered Pentium 1.7 server, is it upgradeable ?

Suppose I have enough money in the future, and I want to use Pentium 4 3.06 Mhz (if they have) or other more powerfull server, can they upgrade it ?

I dont have experience with dedicated server thingy, so I dont know if we can upgrade the server or not.

Usually we can add like harddisk or ram or bandwidth.

If you know the answer please inform me :)

Thanks.

do you think they will configure the server for you? at that price? heh.

Dont think like that :) Of course for upgrade, I will throw some money for installation and additional monthly fee.

I know that.

But my question was, usually, can we UPGRADE the server or not?

The easiest way to upgrade (as I've done before) is by rebuilding the kernel and swapping the HD into a new machine. It should be able to be done very easily.

Get CPanel, everything is configured by default. You can always have Nocster help you with modifying configurations.

Yah I'll host yah for free. I'll put you on a pentium 4 2.4ghz computer. NetBSD and fully configured with apache, php, cgi, etc... 160gb hard drive space and of course unlimited bandwidth.

I run a public access UNIX system(Or will be in 2 weeks). So you can reply here or email me at jeffconradi@comcast.net.

or just AIM me. That's where I'm reached more easily...

1. Is this a joke?
2. You're violating the rules, no advertising here.
3. Unmetered transfer on an ATTBI Cable modem isn't much of anything, plus it's against Comcast's/ATTBI's TOS to run a server. You probably couldn't push 20GB/month on it...

I can push 450 GIG/month on my ADSL line, they'd probably cut me off before I get there, but it sounds like an intresting experiment :D

Wow, really smart...

Too bad my FREE hosting services are not hosted on an attbi modem. I actually have a T1 line. No it's not a joke, yes I will host.

Even a T1 is pretty cr*ppy for hosting a lot of sites, IMHO.

Then again, it's better than FDC's yipes bandwidth :D

Who ever said a T1 was all I had? And who said I was going to be hosting a lot of sites? I'm just doing this guy a favor...Keeping things free...the way they should be.

Things should be free huh :) I like that. Please start a new economic revolution. I like to be where you are :)

Anyway, the fact still remains you can't respond with what you did in a non-advertising forum.

Hehe. I just believe in keeping things free. Anything I can do to help I will try to do.
