Hi, I want to create a nice order form for my page. Does anyone have any suggestions on how about doing this? Is there a nice GUI program that can write one for you or do I have to do it the old fashion way? Also, I want to be able to use "coupons." Like special codes. If a coupon is entered, they are brought to another page with special pricing. Is a cgi script needed or can I do it another way?

Thanks

teck,

Well, there are a few options. If you aren't good with HTML, I could recommend Microsoft FrontPage 2000 to you. It's a good WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) program which lets you make forms on the fly. Although I recently saw a thread I believe it was in the "software" forum about the various products ... dreamwaver, etc. You should read that forum to choose the best product for your budget.

Once you have the actual page created, you need a backbone, or a script. I personally use CGI (perl), but I am sure others could recommend ASP, etc. The backbone of the script would basically process the order, and securely get it to you.

If you are interested, send me an e-mail at vince@jtan.com. I'd be happy to program your CGI script for you, I know exactly how to do what you want. Thanks for your time, and I hope this helps you out! :)
