Are there any reliable hosts offering Pentium dedicated servers for under $100-150 per month? It doesn't need to have a lot of bandwidth (probably 40 GB is enough). I'm thinking of using a low-cost Pentium server in conjunction with a RaQ4i from RackShack.
The Pentium can handle the CPU intensive tasks such as databases, while the RaQ4i serves static files that take up a lot of bandwidth.

eva2000: I checked out that post, but the cheapest deal I could find there was $200 per month. Did I miss something?
Well, this is the best deal I've seen so far, from InterServer.net: $150 per month (no setup fee) for PIII 733MHz, 256 MB SDRAM with 49 GB of bandwidth.
How much database work are you talking about?
When you say pentium, what speed?
A Raq4i with 512MB of Ram can actually handle a fair bit of traffic even with dynamic content.

huck: I've run some tests with the "ab" tool that comes with httpd. My Apache::ASP (mod_perl) and Tangram Object Oriented Database code can only handle about 15 requests per second when running on a RaQ4i.
I'm hoping to be able to handle 50 requests per second. 15 suffices for now, but I'm thinking about the future.
