Aloha
well not sure what info you want ?
might try the cobalt.com site might be the best help

its basically a modified version of redhat ( I am pretty sure)
yes you cna install software either by package super easy to do
or the regular way (which may void the warranty they say)
they are a good starting server not a super powerhouse but a good start to learn on if you go with a company like rackshack.net
if you are thinking of buying one
I would get a dell app server or another 1u server and stick plesk on it if I were you
hope that helped

Basically, the Cobalt RaQ is designed to be operated through its super easy-to-use control panel. This allows for the novice, or advanced server user to operate the server with ease. As for software, the Cobalt RaQ4 OS is a modified version of the Red Hat Linux. It comes preconfigured with Perl, PHP, and Chilisoft ASP. The special file format for the RaQ is the .pkg file. It can be uploaded to, or installed using a URL via the control panel. But, you are not limited to just .pkg files. You can install any Linux based software onto your RaQ using telnet.
