Where is a good place to purchase a domain? And will it just forward to my host or will it be like www.mydomain.com/index.htm

This is a frequently asked question here, there are a number of popular registrars RegisterFly.com, godaddy etc..

Right!! a very FAQ here. Do a search!!

for a start:
Rackshack seems a good deal at $5.41.

p/s: i thought ppl tends to register their domains first then they look for their hosts!!!:D :D

I say go to NameCheap.com if you are looking to pay by PayPal.
Also, once you get there, just set the nameservers to your host's, and give it a day, and you should be set.

http://www.namecheap.com would be my pick as well. I do NOT recommend registerfly, their support is horrible.

i currently have 81 domains at godaddy. i've had very fast support , and a cool thing is that they remind you at 90,60,and 30 days before expiration.

good luck

I have also just recently used namecheap for the first time... and it was a straightforward and easy process all the way. Good price too. I would recommend them.

Good price too. I would recommend them.

As far as good pricing, the lowest around is Rackspace (5.00 + Tax)
