HD crashed on their server, and it's going to be replaced anytime this morning. They sent out e-mails to all current clients, not to worry. It wasn't their fault, and nothing could really be done about it.


Contact them when they go back up for a detailed explanation.

We have a server at pwebtech.com and with their lack of professionalism, and slow customer service we have to suffer.

I was informed that all data will be lost...how about those daily tape backups? And 99.9% guarantee? I believe you just lost a once-satisfied customer.

The company that ensured us to install the backups did not.
As for 99.5% guarantee, we are giving a free month of hosting to our current clients, because of this situation.

I was considering them as a possible host in the near future. I guess I can safely cross them off the list. This level of down time would be totally unacceptable even if it only happened once.

99.9% uptime is a myth and not a realistic figure at all. If you work it out that amounts to about 40 minutes of downtime per month. I haven't come across a single host that can even come close to this figure.

I am also hosted with palmversa, but i will be staying with them. With their new HDD in they will be reliable, and they won't make the error of no back-ups again. I think for the service and support they give ppl should give them a second chance and stay with them. i know i will.

Their lack of professionalism? You have to be kidding me? Is that a way to run your business? Why don't you just accept the fact that you didn't do YOUR due diligence and make sure that the backups were being done?

Nice way to pass the buck. Pwebtech is nothing more than a highly professional organization. If you are not happy with them, then why don't you leave?

I think both parties are responsible me and pwebtech.
If you would read the e-mails I sent out to my clients you would see that I did not blame anyone and I apologized for OUR mistake.

Give them a break. Hardware failure does happen, and nothing can be done about it. It is clients responsibility to back up their files on their computer, even if host offers backups.

They are giving our full refunds, or a full month of web hosting. Every client was informed of every update, and once they get back on their feet, it will be as good as it was.

BTW, are you a client of pwebtech?

Its seems people have took my message out of context, i posted this message as sometimes my isp has problems accessing certain sites and was wondering was it just me. My experience with Palmversa has been a good one even though i have just signed up i was able to speak to the bloke before i brought a package of him, if i had any problems they were sorted asp i have always had great support an now i am uploading my site, i have had no problems and i would recommenced Palmversa to everyone.

Am i the only one but shouldn't you backup your own site if it is so important just in case something happened?

I think WHM installs Certificates incorrectly and doesn't let apache restart when it's down do to wrong data in httpd.conf
