I am charging my users a setup fee to help cover some of the costs. Will there every be an option for this on the PayPal payment system?

I know that you can charge more the first month, but I think that this might confuse some of the customers.

So what I do is, I charge them nothing for the first three days, then $10 for the second trial which only lasts one day, then I start charging monthly.

I think it might be worthwhile to implement a setup fee option.

You are more than welcome to advise me on how you would like the flow to work within our system...many of our best ideas come from users.

Yes, just like there is an option to make a trial period, I think there should be an option for Setup Fee....like when you are generating the code to sell an item.
