Hi peoples,

I have three domain names that all belong to different domain registrars. Because it's a hassle to configure each one, I wanted to transfer all of them to the same host. I heard a lot of good things about stargateinc.com. Thus, I gave them my information, Credit Card number, and they stated they would send me an email to confirm the transfer.

Well, it has been three days and they have not sent me any authorization mails yet (and the email address does work). I emailed their technical support number and it bouced back to me (and no it was not my hoster's email server's fault).

Anyways, I was wondering is this the correct policy. Do they talk to my other transfer companies and then ask me for authorization? Why haven't I received any emails from stargate yet? Also, they have my CC information, are they just going to bill me? I really want to just go to another domain registrar since I need it changed ASAP.

Well, thanks..
gonna call stargate too if they got a number :-P

well,

I just called sales (support didn't have a number) and there was an extension for sales.. kinda cool! Anyways, the guy said I should have received an email the same day.

I just cancelled. Considering I did not get any authorization mails, and their support email bounced back... doesn't seem like a good transfer to me. I heard a lot of good reviews from other people who used their service, so this is only one opinion. However, their transfer service is pretty crappy...

I'm gonna go ahead and pay a few extra bucks looking into dotster right now for $12.

I've transfered several domains to Stargate. Never a problem.
You do realise they send the notification email to the listed domain owner (registrant)?
i.e. Not technical, or billing, or administrative.

This past Saturday, I'd transferred 12 domains from register.com and namebargain.com because they were about to expire next month. Yesterday (Tuesday, 8/21/01), all of the 12 transferred domains' whois info were changed to Stargateinc, but what I don't like is that you are NOT allow to modify the registrant's info.
I think within 60 days I will transferred them somewhere else where I'm able to modify it.

An inside source at stargateinc.com told me that on-line registrant changes may be available within the next few weeks. :)

Are you referring to the FULL modification on registrants info ?
Or is it only the address, tel/fax only, but the organization name is NOT modifiable ?
If they have this, I will definitely stay them !

I just emailed support about this.
I'll post here when I hear from them.
They also have a toll free number.
But, it's only available from 9-5 CST

Several months ago I did call their 1-800 # and they (Stargateinc.) told me that you CANNOT change/modify the organization name.

heck, if you can't edit your info, i'm glad i didn't go with them. i like the idea knowing that I'm paying my good money so I can change information.. maybe a couple bucks really does add up?? :-P

so here's the deal: register a domain with them knowing FULLY what you want on the information, and you're good to go
(don't transfer, ewww!!)

YOU CAN MODIFY THE FULL REGISTRANT INFO NOW !!!!
I've just modified all of my domain's registrant info (organization name, address, tel/fax, etc.) several minutes ago. And the changes appeared instantly when you do a whois search.
THANKS STARGATEINC.COM !!!
I WILL DEFINITELY TRANSFER ALL OF MY DOMAINS TO THEM & STAY WITH THEM FOR A LONG TIME !!!

Yes, I was with NetSol for my four domain names. I moved them over to Go Daddy after the initial hesitation of the name and all ;-)

I AM SO GLAD I DID.

They have been responsive and I like the clean method of updating my domain names.
