Okay I am trying to figure out a good host. I have multiple Domains and need to be able to host them.

www.hostrocket.com

and

www.aletiahosting.com

I need the skinny on em. Are they good, or are they bad? Cons and pros. I need everything!!! You can PM me if you don't want to post.

Thanks
:)

Try using the Search function option atop the forums here.
Type in company name and past postings will result.
Im sure you will find plenty of feedback.
Good Luck :D

I did that that's how I came up with those 2.

I have seen good comments and bad comments about both.

Server being down once a day, 85% uptime, blah blah.

Here are some good ones:

www.venturesonline.com
www.downtownhost.com
www.hostingmatters.com

and a good new host -

www.aphosting.com

Well play the lottery, both hosts have more than 1 server. the people with 85% down probally just got lucky with a server where users cause problems.

HostRocket have been on business longer than Aletia i believe.

If you are looking for a place to host a discussion board,

www.f5hosting.com have the best record according to vBulletin forums for vB hosting. F5hosting don't even have any bad reviews so their records are clean.

"The best record"? What is that supposed to mean? Anybody should be able to host a vB site without problems. Why do hosts insist on recommending other hosts? Logrolling for fun and profit? And why can't anyone just answer the question the person asked?

Of the two you listed, I would lean toward aletia and not hostrocket. I tried hostrocket very briefly and was not impressed by their service or their attitude. I've had some email exchanges with aletia and while I haven't signed up for any accounts there, if those were the only two I was considering I would go with them over hostrocket in a heartbeat.

I've have seen people complaining their host's mysql is consistantly slow. F5 on the other hand don't have such problem. Allen from F5 manages the load on his servers really well.

I on the other hand if I'm choosing between Aletia or hostrocket, I would go to their support forums and browse before I make a choice....

I would look at the 2 companies and pin point serious support issues stated on their user forums.

Things to look for:

1) MySQL Down alot?
2) Apache Crashes often?
3) Speed?
4) CGI (as in people's scripts executes but fail to show)

Synergy,

F5 is your business isn't it? If not, You sure like to spam about it.

I have just started with Aletia and I have not had a single problem with them. They even gave me an ICQ number and AIM screen name to contact them with my questions and concerns.

When I post on their forums I get a reply within 10 minutes and it has been really fast and reliable.

Why is it every host thinks they are the best when someone wants an answer? I was looking for a review on Hostrocket and Aletia. Not F5 or a personal Host.

cpradio,

Please get enough facts before you start accusing people of spam. There is no way that F5hosting is my company. If I wanted to spam my company, it would not be F5 and it would be the one on my signature.

Don't accuse anyone unless you are for sure that they own the host.

Per the fourm guidelines, we do ask that:

Participants may not use discussions to recommend or praise other product or services, or any company, unless you have directly used them before. This includes companies recommending other companies.

This helps to prevent these types of threads. If you've had experience with a host, then by all means, recommend away. Please note that this is not limited to web hosting companies, but it does include them. In a perfect world, you'd only get recommendations from people who have used the service and post information to back that up. Unfortunately, this is somewhat rare.

For my own needs, I pretty much ignore unsubstantiated posts and only trust the ones that can back it up. I suggest you do that same. Let's just get on with the thread and leave it at that.
