I have a shopping cart system and secure server all set up. What would be the best (and least expensive) way to just process credit cards, without all of the frills—secure server, online cart, etc. Is a merchant account nessasary for this? Is there a way that I can get around it?

yea i wanna find the same thing. Non of that shopping cart stuff. All i want to do is bill them every month. So that means I need something with re-curring payment options.

It sounds like what you are looking for is just a merchant account. (A virtual terminal is always a nice addition, though.)

Yahoo/Google/(insert favourite search engine) for merchant accounts. Most likely you will be looking at an upfront fee of 100-300. But look around. Discount rate fees and such vary, as do the monthly costs.

I think my partner set us up as a reseller for Merchant accounts, but I'm not sure. He's out of the state(mormon, on his mission) so I'll have to dig through the paperwork.
