Anybody else afeared of chickens??
Tell your chicken (or Chicken) horror stories here.
Or just listen. But, never underestimate chickens. . . . .

I used to work around 800,000 chickens.
Actually they were split up to about 120,000 chickens to a coop.
You've never heard anything untill you've heard 120,000 chickens all cacklin at the same time.
Then the light goes off. Silence. Quick, the emergency generator!
It takes a while to start. A couple of hours in fact. The technical aspects I'll omit for they have no bearing.
What is of substance, is the fact that I lost 33,000 chickens that day.
The ghosts of chickens is where my story will continue.
If ever I gather the nerve to continue writing.

To be continued. . . . . . . . .

I'm sorry, this may seem like I'm trying to get my post up, but:

ROFLMAO!!

Anywho, love the thoughts of chicken running around w/ no heads....

SWR why did it take so long...u should get an auto switch that goes to a battery, starts up the gen, goes to gen which powers and recharges battery!! :D

Had to run to the store to get some fuel? :)

<pedantic style="Oxford DPhil student">

The correct term for a phobia of chickens would be 'ornithiophobia', from the Gk. 'ornithion' (chicken) + 'phobia' (irrational fear or dislike).

So that day the Chicken uptime was only 72.5% ?

We used to have 30,000 layers. Fortunately they were caged. We had no problems with power, unless it was for an extended period of time. (or it was HOT)

But yes, it goes silent when the lights go out. Odd, they just seem to go to sleep then...
