View Full Version : SMTP server for Thunderbird???

Hi all,

I've been using thunderbird as my mail client for about a week now, and until yesterday, I found I was able to send outgoing emails through a given SMTP server. Well, apparently, I can't send mail to "outsiders" of this SMTP server, so I am forced to find another server.

Any suggestions for a public, free mail server I can connect to? Or info on how to get my ISP's mail server?

Any feedback is apppreciated.

Thanks,
-Hoss

Call your ISP and ask them for your e-mail server settings.

Alright, would an email suffice?

Who's your ISP? They may have the settings on their website.

As for sending an e-mail, if you're currently unable to send mail, you may not be able to e-mail them.

CompuServe is my ISP. I have an account with them, but it isn't very customizable, so I thought I'd try out thunderbird.
