I'll be moving existing accounts to my new dedicated server over the next couple of weeks. It dawned on me that it might help to keep things organized if I set up several dummy reseller accounts.
I can put all of the domains that I maintain in my own reseller account. I can put all of the clients that my friend, Jim, brought on board in a separate "Jim" reseller account (Jim isn't actually a reseller. He brought in a few clients for me and Jim maintains their sites). I can keep all of the small, static sites I'm hosting under a separate "Static" reseller account. Get the picture? No actual reselling going on. Rather than trying to sort thru, for example, 200 sites on the server, I look in a dummy reseller account and deal with the dozen or so in that account.
Is there a downside to doing this or a better way? Oh yah... Using FreeBSD & CPanel.
(Comments on the "200 sites on the server" not allowed  Depending on blah blah blah, 20 sites would be too many. Depending on blah blah blah, 500 would be OK. Not the issue or question.)
