Hi,

If you get a chance could you check out http://akashik.net/aknet . Feel free to be brutal as I'm not sure if I like it myself right now. It's a concept so far so all there is, is the main page and the pricing page. In particular I need responses to the orange. :)

Right now I'm looking at it through an LCD and a cathode at the same time and it looks a lot different though both! (that pesky orange)

One point I do know... the domain checker chokes on a 4.0 Nutscrape browser (my fiance' pointed it out to me). Does the 'overlib' layer popup for the descriptions on the pricing page work for everyone?

Thanks...

Hmm.... you have to, and I mean have to change the orange. :) Change it to another lighter or darker orange. The current orange hurts my eye bad!!

The image and text on it are not clear at all!! the text is too small!

Basically I find the text color and text size confusing ot the eye!! I cant read anything properly!

yeah I was starting to think that myself... under LCD it's a LOT 'calmer' *lol* starting to think of brushed metal chrome, and grey now actually :)

Did the popup description in the pricing table work though? (the left column). It should be pretty backwards compatible but then again nothing on the net is ever guaranteed :)

Greg,

I havta say, that orange on grey certainly doesn't work right for me, especially on the pricing page. The Overlib works fine, but the orange is impossible to read on my screen.

There basically needs to be more contrast between grey and orange.... At the moment the pricing plans page looks like a grey table with plenty of orange fuzz.

much as already been said about the orange... the current tints you are using "really" would "clash".

since i am associated with an advertising firm involved in a lot of graphic design, my monitor is color calibrated... and i'd break anyone's fingers if he fiddled with my monitor settings :D

well, maybe that's why the colors didn't show up so bad on my monitor, akashik... but i have seen colors look so different on different monitors.

so, friend, do play it safe!!!

btw, i remember being impressed with your designing skills while surfing through your previous website... and notice that you are fond of unusual, but attractive, color schemes, right??!!!

in my humble opinion, it would be a better idea to redo your *corporate name graphic* at the top left corner of the page... cuz it looks like kinda wobbly... sickly... weak... yada... yada!!!

nice effect... but looks a bit childish... this opinion is only from a (highly probable) consumer's point of view and not from a professional designer's point of view.

Hope this helps!!!

I agree about the orange.

On the plan comparison, the popups are REALLY cool. Keep that. Looks good, other than that orange. :)

Thanks guys!

I value the comments so far in that they've reflected a lot of my own opinions that have been growing as I've been building it. It helps to know those opinons have been reflected by others as well (considering the sites connected with those names)

As mentioned in the thread I do try for something out of the ordinary in everything I do, but it's always a hit and miss job of getting it right. It's the first time I've gone for orange and I asked for opinions as I wasn't too sure of the results *lol* Turns out they were justified :)

Just got PS 5.0 cheap and am considering buying a cathode screen again to add to the LCD I have. I'm out of town right now and have both hooked up and love the contrast *grin* 48 inches plus of screen over two monitors is damn cool! :)

Oh yeah that layer pop-up IS cool *lol*. FYI, it's a freeware .js file called 'overlib' - a netsearch should get you there to find it should you wish to find it. It can be done easily via layers but I recommend the overlib file as it has a TON of backward compatibility built in (for both IE and Nutscrape)

Any more comments - suggested invited :)
