View Full Version : Anyone have problems with Enom or their resellers?

This is my first post, so I hope I got this right :-)

I currently have some domain names registered thru
2 enom resellers and all my domain name's email
forwarding have been erratic at best.
Ever since the SoBig virus and enom.com's software/filtering
upgrades, I get maybe 1 out of 10 emails
forwarded and NO email attachments (varying from
10kbytes to 500kbytes) at all. This was tested thru
comcast.net email service and thru yahoo's email.
Previous to these problems, I had no problems at all
for the past 2 years.

Is it just me or is there a problem with enom.com's
email forwarding? According to the resellers, enom.com
allows up to 10mb of email attachments to be forwarded.
I currently have my domain names set with no MX records
and use only the email forwarding sections of the admin
tools page.

thanks for the help!
John

There is definately an issue with enom's forwarding. I have had a number of my clients complain over the poor reliability of the enom email forwarding. Since sobig.f virus was contained a few weeks ago you would imagine they would of got the forwarding issue resolved.

Sorry to hear about your problems, but it sounds like I dodged a bullet by NOT getting their email service.

(The pricing sounded REALLY enticing, almost TOO GOOD to be true.)

Which enom resellers?

There can be a HUGE difference between enom resellers, even though they are technically "identical", selling the same products.

(I have escaped from one and tried another -- night and day difference between them.)

Do you mind sharing which reseller you escaped from?

I'm not sure what the "rules" are in saying which
resellers I'm using, but here goes. Remember, the
problem seems to be with enom, not the resellers
since (I assume) the resellers don't manage the
actual services such as email forwarding.

I'm using registrydomains.com and servercentral.net.
Of the two, registrydomains.com have not even replied
to my voicemails and emails. Very bad support IMHO.
Servercentral.net has very good support (both phone and
email support). They have replied to my questions within 24 hrs. Servercentral.net also opened a trouble
ticket for me, but after 4 days, only got "still working on it" messages.

So at this point, I'm looking for recommendations on a
new domain name registrar that use their own HW/SW
to manage the various services we all expect (i.e. inclusive email forwarding, dns self-admin, url redirections,
proper ownership of the domain name :-) for a reasonable price (i.e. $10-15).
Or is that asking too much?

Hi Browser

It is not your own problems. As I received answer from eNom.com it was pretty no help at all. Because the server (email forwarding ) is very very busy and mail is delayed. In addition, there is a incompetence in enom.com's mailing server. They say. It should now be resolved.

I hope no further problems.

Enom's web forwarding works fine

But yes i have heard problems with their email forwarding

Enom has so many names going through their servers.

I would host your own DNS.

But Enom is still the best !

If Enom's email forwarding is slow and you need to provide your own DNS, then what is the advantage of an Enom account?

It can't be their technical support, so why exactly are they the best?

I have loosing so many emails for about a month or two.

The second time my provider lost emails (once on a server crash) and the next time because he brought up the mail server without accounts for a day (causing all the queued mail to bounce), that I began to look for another alternative.

It's painful and can cost money, but you need to make a decision of what lost email is worth.

(But I am glad (and lucky) to have not use what you have described -- I was very close to signing up.)
