View Full Version : Anyone know a way to monitor the server up/down time?

I just signed with another webhost since my last one ran with my money. Now they claim that they have 99.9% downtime, however It looks more like 50% to me. I contacted them and they claim that their server didn't go down, but friends also have problems connecting to the site.

I would know if there's a way to monitor my site and know when it goes down and come back.

Thanks a lot.

Refresh button on your browser and a stopwatch? :D

I'll also recommend alertra. One of my trial accounts is still running, free of charge, it was set up about 12 months ago to monitor a server I long ago dropped :D

I think you mean 99.9% and 50% UPTIME . . no sane host would claim 99.9% DOWNtime :)

lol yeah I meant 99.9% UPTIME hehe
I don't know what I had in mind

Thanks for the feedbacks guys, I'll try both.

I already signed with siteuptime and I got an email 3 seconds after telling me that my site was down :)

I didn't like siteuptime... it's not very reliable.. and 15 mins monitoring is not good enough for me. A lot of times, I get false positives.
