Ok, I withdraw the comment, but still...
At least the ads I've seen so far haven't been cheesy.

Sorry, but sometimes that AnIdiot side of me pops up when I least expect it :D Can't say I have anything against the advertising though  universal2001 08-20-2001, 02:18 PM I wonder how many people click on those ads since a lot of people who surf here are just web host owners who are in direct compeititon with the ads. Seer 08-20-2001, 03:07 PM I've clicked on them. I'm not a provider, so I can see where they work. Just checking out NT hosting plans, but too pricey for my taste. I'm always looking at plans offered by hosts here. SoftWareRevue 08-20-2001, 03:13 PM Originally posted by slade Ok, I withdraw the comment, but still... Seer, Feel the same way, but since Mickey$oft likes to ream their users, there's not much that can be done. mahinder 08-20-2001, 04:05 PM ads are ok until they in the right side of the logo. every ad takes space on the top and also stuck the browser for some seconds. placing ads is not wrong. after all every body wants some money :D I think some dedicated provider will get new customers out of this forms. But as most people are web hosts here they know in's and out's of hosting industry. fine no more comments . . . none of my business. :cartman: slade 08-20-2001, 04:17 PM I wonder what Voxel.net's opinion is, given they're providing the server... MCHost-Marc 08-20-2001, 05:00 PM Would you guys mind MCHost ads up there? :unhappy: :D multipleimage 08-20-2001, 05:49 PM go for it marc..;) SoftWareRevue 08-20-2001, 06:38 PM Originally posted by Kiwi Would you guys mind MCHost ads up there?Ads are ads; if I want to click on it I will. Are we still allowed to give a bad comment to hosts in the ads or are they now faultless like the ***** ads on Host Directories? Just curious. RunOfTheMill 08-20-2001, 10:27 PM Yes, im also curious for how much this costs, i have not seen it anywhere on the page. They can probably afford to charge alot because its such a targeted audience. I applaud Matt and the gang for putting up banners. Whats the big deal, every site ont he net has banners.. I do wonder how effective they would be though, seeing as how even when new visitors see the ads, they go in the offers forums and see 50other offers countering the banner, and those ones are free. Comments: I don't think anyone should change how they comment, as I'm not going to change the way I moderate the forums. Lonny 08-21-2001, 02:33 AM I love them, and I can't wait to get our ad up there.. emailed Matt about it. Haze 08-22-2001, 08:50 PM I sent in a request the first time the ads went up and again when they came up this time and I havent recieved one word back. Im beginning to think im not going to either. Oh well, what can you do. Originally posted by FindSP.Com I love them, and I can't wait to get our ad up there.. emailed Matt about it. SI-Chris 08-22-2001, 09:46 PM Will hosts that advertise here be able to post how the experience went? Or is that too much of a conflict of interest for WHT? I always read with interest about hosts' experiences with banner ads on hosting directories, I would be interested in hearing about how much of a cost/benfit ratio a host got from advertising here. SoftWareRevue 08-23-2001, 01:01 AM I, personnaly, wouldn't like to see that:rolleyes: RunOfTheMill 08-23-2001, 01:47 AM Did anybody recieve a quote for CPM yet? Unless its top Secret, i'd be interested in finding out just how much they are charging per CPM. You have to email Matt:rolleyes: Don't you listen to Chickens??. . . :D MattF 08-23-2001, 05:16 AM I apologise to all hosts who have not received a reply to their advertising inquires. I will get round to replying eventually and I will post some ad information on the site shortly. |
