Dont really know if this is the right place for this post but i was just wondering how many hits/day web hosts are getting.
and hits/month.

Also where their traffic is coming from?
forums/ads etc?

Basically i would like new ideas to get more traffic to my site.

From my limited research in this area, and from what I remember, about 200 hits a day is decent for a small site but you can sell ad space if you get about 500 hits a day. Although, I read about a site that gets about 900 hits a day and said thats not enough to justify the cost of the stats software that would help sell ad space. I have no idea what the average is.

you should ask about uniques..

hits doesn't mean anything.
