I need a webhost that provides the following:

Minimum 25 email addresses (prefer 50+) with pop3/smtp AND a webmail interface that is full featured (sent folder to save mail at minimum).
Minimum 100 MB
Transfer 10GB (higher of course is always ok)
Telnet access (in case I have to install Smartlist)
PHP4, cgi access/Perl
Minimum 1 MySQL database
MUST have 30day money back guarantee, telephone #s to talk to real, live people, and been in business more than one year.

And MOST IMPORTANT:
_REAL_ mailing lists. Not some crippled majordomo muddled mess where you can't even administer the thing properly and they try to charge you extra to install something workable (that's what the host I first tried did).

The site is for 3 pretty large play-by-email clubs, so it needs reliable and easily administered mailinglists (discussion and distribution). I need to be able to add a footer to three of the lists (a legal disclaimer required by the author of the series the pbems are based on). I need to be able to add a subject tag line. I need to be able to administer both via the web and via email, but will settle for just email admin. Users must be able to subscribe themselves via email. Users must be able to send email to a XX@mydomain.com address, not use a web interface to post. And most importantly, I must be able to set the list to allow either reply to sender or reply to list (and am still trying to figure out the stupidity of the host I tested out in setting things automatically to reply to list with no way to alter it - talk about bad netiquette!)

I know this isn't too much to demand - I've had paid lists that do it (majordomo based), and my original server (yorweb.com) had Smartlists and procmail. The main reason I'm leaving yorweb is that they've oversold space and now server lag and downtime have become a problem.

I'm not too picky on price. I currently pay $46 quarterly, but have no problem going up to $65-70 if necessary quarterly. I have my own domain and will transfer it myself.

Two hosts that have been recommended to me are www.aplushosting.com and www.liquidweb.com - anyone got opinions on them?

I need a webhost that provides the following:
......

That's why I wanted to create a database with webhosting companies and all their features (take a look at my thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18795.

shadowsfall can just check all the features he/she wants and the database will give him all the webhost companies with the features that he/she wanted! I've checked some of the webhost directory sites but I found them a little confusing.

In response to Chicken:

I understand this subject has been covered before. I've done a search, but was hoping to gain more information. Perhaps something current. Things can and do go downhill or improve rapidly. I was merely hoping that those in the know might be able to offer a sage word of advice or two about the questions I have.

Roger captain. I believe there are users here but I'll edit your thread title as they wouldn't know what you are asking by, "webhost advice needed".

Liquidweb has not changed since any of my earlier posts on them. I cannot recommend them if you need:

1) support for anything
2) weekend coverage for anything
3) Akopia Interchange running at all (though they advertise it)

If it's OK for you to be down over the weekend, and you don't need anything in the way of technical support or any variation on the standard account, they are fine...
