View Full Version : PWEBTECH down the drain. Has everyone received the server?

I am getting frustrated. I ordered the server special, sent in the contract and to this day I still haven't got a reply as to what happended with my order. I rang internationally about 2 times to meet some receptionist on the phone who doesn't know a thing about their operations, left emails and sent ICQ messages. They still haven't bothered to reply.

Are these guys still alive or what? All I want is just a simple answer confirming my order, that's it!!!!! If they replied on ICQ with a simple message like "Yea we received it and we can get it up in 2-3 weeks", I would be EXTREMELY HAPPY.

ARGHHH.................. Talk about reputation gone down the toilet. Show's how much care they give to customers who just paid.

PWEBTECH, if you guys see this message, can you PLZ REPLY. Once I know what happened to my order I'll immediately delete this thread!!!

Seems everybody is having the same problem as you are.

I used to hear nothing but good things about pegasus, but since this offer i see nothing but complaints on these boards.

'Tis a shame.

Pweb is the opposite.

Instead of having bad cstomer support they have bad sales.
Never seen that before.

Good luck to them. :stickout

My new server which I payed a grand for up front is down, and has been down since Thursday. Friday Jay promised up and down that they server would be up and ready on Saturday. Well it is now Monday, and no server. I just called and was informed that Jay wasn't even going to be in today. And they weren't informed about the server being brought up on Saturday. Now they are telling me either today or tomorrow for the server being brought up. I am wondering if a chargeback on my credit card would be justified since they haven't fullfilled their promise?

This is quite strange, is this the same pwebtech? pwebtech.com? Only asking because I heard from other people that they are quite good, in terms of support and sales. But I've never used them, so you people would know better :).

While people are understandably upset, this is not what a chargeback should be used for. You should always attempt to get a refund from the merchant first. If you would like to cancel your server, please relay that information to them, the reason, etc. before you attempt a chargeback.

And every time a hosting company representative complains about how merchant accounts are had to get in the hosting industry, or why the fees are so high for web hosts, they should add up how many times they and their colleagues in the same business have recommended to someone else: problem with a host? Just do a chargeback!

I agree, after reading what I typed a chargeback is overboard (temporary insanity I plead), but I am so ticked, I dished out good money, and I am getting piss poor support. I could understand if I was asking stupid questions of their support team why I would get this kind of treatment, heck even if I was trying to be a smart ass with their support team, but I am talking about getting the damn server up and running, that is it. I don't think they are justified in their actions.

In regards, to pwebtech down the drain. This is one offer under special circumstances that is making things a little more difficult to gets things done. And some people have been waiting yes, because we did things in 3 batches of servers. So even if you ordered early, you might be in the third batch because we can only setup so many servers at one time.

So please everyone who has ordered a server, stay calm and don't get impatient this isn't shared hosting where everything is so easy.

If you tlak to most any of our current customers they will say they are very very happy with our service. Stay calm and patient and you will be to.

JAY your back! Wohoo. Why is it that I've tried various means to contact customer support with NO replies whatsoever, and a tiny post about your company here gets an immediate reply.. Talk about saving face.

Anyway I'm happy that you've replied. For awhile there I thought you didn't care about your reputation anymore.

Now can you at least confirm my order or send an email? I've sent several emails, ICQ messages and phoned. At least give me an answer on whether or not you are processing my order?!?

YOU tell everyone that ordered to keep calm and wait, that's fine HOWEVER the only problem is that I don't even know if my order was received successfully, that's why I need a confirmation. :O

btw do you have an ETA on when the 3rd batch will be processed ?

Thanks!

I am actually in Washington DC right now at whexpo.com where I will be speaking. When me and ed get back, we will handle any unresolved issues.

We are commited to our clients, but the response on this offer hit us by surprise, so we are trying to take care of each batch, and make sure each batch is fully happy before we move on. Right now we are on the end of batch to. And razor is in batch to, his server has a hardware issue we are workign to resolve.

I'm another customer of Pegasus's who ordered one of these specials.

I can appreciate all of y'alls frustration, I will be honest and say I was getting pretty pissed off about the lack of communication. I can appreciate the logistical problems that this special may have caused but I believe (and I hope Pegasus can admit and rectify) that they should be corresponding better with the customers who are waiting.

Anyhow, I received my server on Saturday evening so they definately haven't gone down the pan! Since then, I have been able to get hold of Jason on ICQ the majority of the times I have needed to ask for support.

I'm pretty happy with the server so far... it's all very new to me (being my first dedicated box) and Pegasus has been patient with me... I must be pretty annoying as I reckon I'm asking some very newbie(ish) questions!

Jay will these kind of offers be poping out any times soon.
Because it slows down the customer service for all the people.

This sounds like an experience.

I hope these offers dont come up soon, now all these people think that you can get servers and bandwidth for nothing, and then it makes the industry look bad when people cant hold up there end of the deal

Just a thought, when theres like 10posts about possible clients complaining about the lack there off, I would have hopped that this issue would have been moderated better....

Hi,

My Server is up (see Original Offer Treat) and running since a little Time, ok it has take a littlebit long for a IP-Block but all does function now and works perfect.

Now I can only wish all others "good Luck" that your Server will be soon also up & ready.

Still waiting here...

No offense, but there is a saying. "Crap or get off the sh**er". There is no use complaining. Either wait untill they have the server you want or find another host. Which ever you chose, it was your choice, so you are to blame now.

I could understand if you were told it would be up by a certain time and it wasn't that you would be upset. But now it is just complaining. You have had plenty of time to find another host. I assure you, there are plenty of host that could have this server up within 24 hours.

I think I'll have to agree with that. I've spoken with jay Silver at pegasusweb a few times and he and his staff seem knowledgeable and I'm surprised this issue is happening. But, nonetheless, I see people every now and then saying "As soon as I posted on the board, it was set up faster" or "Use the word "cancel" and it seems to speed things up. I'm sorry, but if I had to use any other unreasonable alternative such as one of those or something similar, than there's something seriously wrong and that would _not_ be the host/provider for me.

I'm sure that they will get this resolved and things will be okay, but if you feel you have to publicly complain about the service to get the service, you might want to seek an alternative. Again, I'm sure they will get you settled and happy, but I'm just reaffirming the above user's point, since I don't feel it serves any purpose to publicly complain about the host you intend to do business on. You shouldn't have to do that, and it won't likely speed anything up, even if it seems like it might. However, that's all just my opinion.

I am not going to say how long I had to wait but I am very please I did. I have asked Jay for IPs yesterday on the ICQ and he said how many do want I said xx please within seconds he said ok you have xxxx - xxxxx. Thats what you call excellent customer service.

Keep the good work pwebtech.com

Thanks Jay.

I think I am very confused. In a recent thread started by yourself (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18328) you stated that you have had a hard time with them.

Yet now they have excellent customer service.

I guess if you get someting once, the customer service is excellent. If you need to wait 2+ weeks for a server, then it is bad. I am just curious, which one is it?

The thread was about how long would you wait for a dedicated server as I did wait for x days.

I am very please I did wait that long as they have been excellent since then. Like I said when I asked Jay for IPs his answer was how many? within seconds he said you have xxxx-xxxx.
