View Full Version : Rule Question

Greetings!

I went to post a contest for a header and got an ominous "DO NOT TRY TO BREAK THE RULES" message.

Laughs...

I certainly was not "trying" to do any such tihing :)

So here is the question... Does no more than one per week mean ..one week from when we post an offer ..like a logo contest...or..one week from when it ends...

And then does that mean one cannot post more than one logo offer or such at a time

Just checking..so I don't get such ominus messages.

Also I must say I can see where lots of commercial posting even in advertising would be a pain. But the logo sort of stuff..I mean I buy as much as I sell...It feels more like community building and exchange that benefits everyione than spaming boards with advertising..

I wonder if that policy has some other reason?

Best

The rule is one thread per week :) There was a recent discussion on this here : http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=187083

It's until 12pm CST the seventh day of the thread start.

As with all rules, they're implemented for the better good of the forum. Sure, there are times when they may be restrictive in certain circumstances. But, that's rare.

Being able to start one thread per seven days seems pretty generous to me.

Yes it is, but also note it wouldn't be needed if people wouldn't just post like 500 offers and requests a day and post in there at a reasonable amount of time but we all know that won't happen :)

Which is why there is a rule.
