Hi,

Need your advice etc:

About 10 days ago, I confirmed with a webhosting company (who is active in this WHT) after reading a couple of positive reviews about them in this forum.

After getting assurances (twice) that they do support ASP, I decided to give them a try.

Having uploaded all my files and after trying a couple of days, my website could not be 'seen' and my ASP files could not be viewed.

Emails after emails, finally the incredible host admiitted: "...oh it is my mistake...I placed you in the wrong server...now if you want, I will change to the windows server..." My reply was, since I have no other choice apart from asking for a refund, I said ok to them. Again emails after emails, finally they replied: "...it should be done within an hour... " Hours had since passed, I have yet to receive the relevant details for me to udpate my ISP etc.

More than 10 days have passed and my website is still 'down'. Am I being very impatient or has Isabael struck or what...?

Appreciate any views, advice, suggestions from anyone. Just in case, I need to resort to asking for a refund which I hope to avoid as I believe in giving a second chance - appreciate too if anyone can give any recommendations of any affordable windows webhost. My requirements: 150mb space, MS access and MS SQL database, support 3rd party email, shared SSL, support javascripts, among others.

What about **************.com? Tried the search in WHT but got no results.

Thanks

They've been banned.

Not a good sign..

I'd suggest trying to post a request in the shared hosting requests and finding a host that way.. better then a banned host. :D

Recommendations of known reliable ones would be better help :) No guarantees that those in requests won't look like ****** tomorrow or next week. ;)

Well obviously one of the fallancy is that an active poster is a good host (hammering my own foot here) in fact, nothing is a real good proxy for that except for customers experiences. Even that can turn bad fairly quickly. It's just like the stock market, past performance is not a guarantee of future performance.

10 days is definitely not acceptable in my book. A day or 2 is about right.

Following up on anon-e-mouse's comment..

I deal with Erica at Simpli.biz often and have been with them for for a bit.

Their service is definately top notch and Erica goes out of her way to help.

I use them as a dedicated server provider as a side note.

:D

Hi,

Checked out simple.biz and sent them an email about a day ago, no reply yet.

Besides simpli.biz, any other recommendations?

Thanks,

Move, fast.

You are getting jerked around and it probably will not get any better. They seem to have a bad way of communicating with their Clients.

It could be a Hoster that is 'not quite sure' what they are doing and think that, perhaps, they can get ASP pages to properly work on a Linux Server -- which won't happen.

Hi,

Taking your advice, I have decided enough is enough. I have requested for a refund as I am still within their 30-day refund offer.

I noticed one moderator of WHT is full of praise for this host of mine and there are still positive reviews coming in although a number of them are experiencing one of my grievances i.e. slow replies to emails.

Maybe they are trying to discourage me to be their customer - for whatever the reason/s. Just refund me and I won't bother any further.

Why not try the "namesake" of your "incrediblehost"

crediblehost.com? They seem to ahve a good rep on these boards... In any event, good luck with your search.

I've got a feeling that I know who you are referring to. What methods of contact have you used to get in touch with them?

If it is who I think it is, it is sort of surprising me.

Hi Coach,

I was earlerly looking forward to a great new experience with this new host after reading the positives about them in WHT and was I really disappointed by such a let down. Maybe like I said, I could be too impatient but then again, who can stand 10 days of delay?

I am not only surprised like you but unfortunately I just find this whole experience simply incomprehensible!

I guessed right then. I've made an attempt to get in touch with Bonnie, so hopefully she'll address the issues soon.

I'm the host. I did set you up on the windows machine and sent out a new welcome e-mail. I'm guessing you didn't get it. I've also replied to several e-mails from you and I'm assuming you've not gotten those either. :( I'm going to resend everything using my personal e-mail. Please confirm that you get them with the read receipt I attach.

Unless of course you've given up on us in which I will refund you your payment (because we have failed to provide you the service you deserve)

Hi Bonnie,

If you have been sending to the email address which I have been telling you that I am having problems receiving any emails from, then of course I would not be receiving any of your replies.

Please refer to my reply to your latest email and hopefully our problems (as highlighted in my reply to your personal email) can be positively resolved asap.

Best wishes,
Hostaches

hey bonnie...

I think you have problems with your support e-mail. I have had a few bounce back as well...so I always have to use on of your others listed. But if the support @ crediblehost.com e-mail doesn't work...or work consistently, maybe it should be yanked all together?
