I am new to this whole concept and still trying to grasp it. My questions may sound stupid but I am still learning. Can anyone explain to me what exactly a reseller account is.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
being a reseller is kind of like being a franchise you buy space you make packages bill your clients support them ....its the online version of renting your store space , in that you *need* to make sure the company you buy from is rock solid with a solid biz plan ...thats easier said than done.

A reseller account can be used to create ordinary web hosting accounts that is sold( reselled).
Also is nice for people that need to host many sites.
Sometimes a reseller can resell even reseller accounts.
Hope this helps.

It is kind of like the phone companies - you know, there is one big carrier and then all these other carriers but they all use the big carrier's lines. Here in Georgia, just about everything is BellSouth. You can sign up local phone service with other companies but if you ask them if they are using BellSouth equipment, most say yes. But they still offer their own packages and pricing.
Resellers of hosting are doing the same thing. They get discounted pricing and set up their own packages/pricing but they are using someone elses "equipment" ie servers. Does that make sense?

In addition to what was already said your parent company manages the servers and the tech side of the business. So you can focus on marketing your hosting business or setting up your multiple domains on that account. Either way it is great to get your feet wet. Good luck, feel free to PM with any questions you run into :)

It's the greatest idea since the slinky. Maybe even the hula hoop! Everyone needs two of them. :)
