Can anyone recommened a good piece of software, or multiple softwares, to manage my business? something that will balance my book keeping, keep track of my customers, and also do invoicing. besides webhosting, i also do web design so i would like an efficient invoicing system.

I've heard of Quickbooks, but i've heard that their service isnt the best. Would microsoft money 2004 small business fit my criteria?

Please recommend. I am not looking for an online solution (eg. modernbill).

thanks!

Well, i would recommend Oracle Small Business web edition or Quickbooks web edition.

I've used Money SB 2003 and wasn't to impressed. Too cluttered.

Quickbooks web edition is affordable and feature rich, but Oracle Small Business (old NetLedger) is the "bomb diggity" when it comes to complete business management/crm/sales/marketing/billing

Quickbooks and Peachtree are pretty much the standard for small business accounting. If you have an accountant you should consult them because if they use one of those two it will make exporting the data for doing taxes easier and they may even be able to give you some pointers.

We use Goldmine Corporate Edition. It does a great job managing everything for us. You can find them at Frontrange (http://www.frontrange.com)

I really liked Goldmine from frontrange's site. How is it? since their script is being pissy and not letting me download. keeps telling me somethings missing from the form when i've filled everything in

i'd suggest either buying MYOB (if that's available where your located), Quickbooks or Triumph Accounting. We use Triumph Accounting and it fits all our needs, it comes with an easy to use interface although the features are quite advanced . If your after some of the above (REAL accounting software) be prepared to pay a bit of money but it'd be well worth it in the long run. Hope that helped :)

We love Goldmine. It meets or exeeds all of our needs. The automated process are very good and can be tailored to fit many different needs.

It's definetly worth taking a look at. I have to tell you that I am biased because our parent company is a Goldmine vendor. We also sell and servive Sales Logix and ACT. We feel Goldmine is the best for small to medium size business. It is a true CRM.
