Ok i tested out LiveChat and did not like it much.. Looking for some thing like this..

At http://datapipe.com/ the LivePerson thing it puts you in to like que till the next support person can talk to you.. I think *****.com does this as well.. What program or software can do this.. So our techs could take take the calls as needed.. Would need to be windows based so each tech can install it.. Also needs to support more the one tech.. Any one have a list of some of the good ones that are free?

Its not completely free.... Ending this month :)

Live Help plans to charge
$25 a month per operator if you own use the live text chat.

Still reasonable price compared to

Human click which is
$85 per month per operator.

You'd expect someone to pay for a quality web design and that does a similar job (I'd hope) so surely that's sort of on the same lines...

Free sure is nice when you can get it but the people who write these app's need to eat too. From the pricing comparisons it sounds like they haven't been too greedy either...

Just a thought mind :)

I see your point but ICQ, AIM, AOL all of them re still free.. Yes they are diff. in a way. But i could just buy a nice chat program as well but i don't know of one that installs on windows so you don't have to keep IE open..

I would not mind paying for some thing if it was a one time fee for the chat software is there nay thing like that.. We use to have Human click but every one hated there Interface so much no one used it..LOL Livehelp.com does look better so every onemay like and 25 bucks is not bad but i still say free is better.. ;)

Hmm... yeah that's true but they require the user to have them installed, etc.. And if you take ICQ as a specific example... it's getting worse instead of better.

but i still say free is better.. ;) I disagree... NOT! :D yeah know what you mean

Actually if it helps at all there is a chat room script in PHP that's free but if you're talking mutiple users it'd be useless for dealing with support queries...

hmmm. . . .Live Helper. . . . .I used to like that thing. Didn't know it was going to a paid version until I heard it here.
So I went to their site and, sure enough; it says it's still free. . . . .
Taken from their page two
Livehelper is completely FREE and contains No Advertisements. We do not ever plan on charging for the original version of livehelper. Instead we will be releasing a Pro version for users of our original version requiring a more robust solution as their organization grows
So I click on "Try it now for free". . . . . .Here is the conversation. . . .

LiveHelper from support is here!
LiveHelper : Hello *****, and welcome to Livehelper. How may I assist you today?
You : What will be the major differences between free and paid versions of live helper?
LiveHelper : You can use our Original version for free till 1st of September 2001.
LiveHelper : There are our free version will be obsolete.
You : :(
LiveHelper : The paid version has more advance features
LiveHelper : like support for voice behind a proxy or firewall..
You : Sorry, my budget doesn't allow
LiveHelper: The Basic package will cost US $25 per operator per month
You : Bye

 :(

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Live Helper charging $25 a month per operator.
I do find it kind of humorous for them to state, "We will never charge money for the current free version of Live Helper.
It will only work for another two weeks, but HEY; No Charge";)

Now That's funny :D

I think most people that like the program would rather pay $25/mo to keep using it than have it go belly-up.

I'm using LivePerson PRO (89.50 a month) and I personally think its worth it.
