I am looking for the following.

I once had a script, that downloaded ALL files from the Yahoo News Network...
So NOT only the headlines...But full HTML, images, etc.... Anyone know what script this is? (I lost it).

It was CGI...
I really dont mind it being a different script, as long as it does the same

Thank you SO much

ALSO looking for:

A nice CGI or PHP script that allows you to display random ads, you know, with an admin centre...so advertisers can see the stats etc....

Thanks

BOTH SCRIPTS (news and advertisements) MUST BE FREE SCRIPTS....

Thanks guys!

Perhaps not, but breaking copyright law certainly is. Yahoo may allow you to link to their news articles using the headlines. Infact there are many cgi scripts that grab the headlines for you.

Yahoo have their newsfeed from Reuters (international news company) and no doubt pay a significant amount for such feed. Also note the disclaimer.

---
Republication or redistribution of Reuters content is expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of Reuters. Reuters shall not be liable for any errors or delays in the content, or for any actions taken in reliance.
---

Taking the content and all is in a way theft and will certainly reflect poorly on you, unless you have written permission.

Other news sites are the same, the only way you can get content is to pay for it, with the exception of press releases (generally used for company statements and annoucements rather than news).

Try searching for 'news syndication'.

Hope that helps.

Ah, well I agree with MattF,
but I thought you guys meant asking for suggestions (also on the ad script) was illegal :D

sorry, my bad :D

Im talking about taking the whole entire content. Headlines is one thing, but the whole page.

it'd only be illegal if he was planning to post the files/content on his own site.. which he didn't say he was going to do..
when i read it i assumed he [or she] was just an avid news reader :D
