I am looking for a Win2k in order to host our website. The site has around 50gb traffic per month and might increased soon. I am looking for:

- Win2k server installed
- Allow terminal services
- Host update the OS with latest security fixes
- MS SQL 7 installed
- good support

I made my homework and till now i found the following hosts:

Ultra Speed
Dedicated Hosting
Digital Nation

From the above i saw that digital nation fits in my package and in the price tag i am preparing to pay.

If anyone can help me with comments/suggestions at any other host or what i should look from my next host please do. This will be my first dedicated server so i need all the help i can get...

For a website getting so much traffic, I would recomend a Linux server. Actually for any type of site I would recomend a linux server. Windows sucks!! ;)

Ive heard good things and bad things about DI, but I think overall they are pretty good. Raq Space and catalog.com our some of the better dedicated hosts but im not sure they have win2k available yet.
You might check our oursite cheapservers.net its still underconstruction but has up to date pricing.

Good Luck!

The problem is that my new website will use ASP. I heard about some scripts that allows asp under linux but don't know if work so good.

True..ChilliASP [ I think that is what it is called ] isnt stable as yet.

DI is a good place to get a d-server from. The only problem one can have out there is the 95percentile thing when they measure your bandwidth. Other then that, their support is excellent and there Control panel is well made too :)

DigitalNation.Com is very good for NT/2000 servers (if that's what you want). Extremely fast connection and low latency, and excellent bandwidth pricing.

Thanks guys for your help. What is this 95% when they measure traffic?

You may want to check out DH.com, their service is good and they are pretty loose when it comes to the bandwidth. Also, the prices offered by the sales reps. is really competitive.

FYI

Check out Speedie's quote of one explanation at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=1808

I also read a nice "speeding ticket" analogy either here or elsewhere. When I find it, I'll reference it. Unless someone else retrieves it first.
