"Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Agent"
on control panel ?

As far as I know SNMP is a protocol to monitor the functionalities of the various hosts in a subnet.
SNMP agents should be the daemons (or call them in another way) you run on the various hosts and which contact the main monitoring machine if something is wrong.

SNMP is widely used (though I never used it)
I hope that somebody gives a better explanation. Does anybody use it, anyway?
