Very Nice. Who knew a feedback loop would produce this error. ;)

Is it for real? Is it accurate? Or is it just a joke?

the w3c validator only supports basic HTML.

A lot of the new things people use in their html tags show up bad on the validator! If your site is validated, it probably looks like it was made in 1995, although not always the case, just mainly.

It supports XHTML, which is the current standard. The things that show up as faulty with it, are IE specific coding, or just plain bad coding.

Yeah, it supports XHTML and with XHTML/CSS you can re-create pretty much anything that's possible with HTML. I've seen many XHTML 1.0 sites that look nothing like they were made in 1995...

Counterexample:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.simpli.biz%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=%28detect+automatically%29

www.simpli.biz

:D

(Yes, this took special effort on our part, but it was worth it.)
